So I recently built a new PC for design work...

I heard 2.4 is gonna be thargoid space girlfriend, so you can ditch your irl female :p
be warned, also thargoid females have issues.. :p

Clip it to your ear instead.

And you don't really need a girlfriend.

And given that you've spent all that money, you should probably buy a Space Pilot Pro - you'll have the proper 3DoF on your right hand and 3DoF on your left hand that way.

This doesn't look like something meant to be clipped to an ear, sir. [knocked out]

Significant others are going to be patched in with 2.3, I believe. So if your girlfriend get upset at your spaceships, don't worry, she's still in very early alpha, if that.

As someone who absolutely hates baseball caps, this hat clip that came with TrackIR is dumb.

Then see whether you can still return it, and get this baby instead. There's also a (ok, several) thread about it somewhere...

People's experiences are mixed. I'd say, for me it mostly works as intended. After playing ED in the evening (or at the weekend), I even catch myself at work trying to drag around my screen focus by looking. But I admit, it'll take some time getting used to. When it doesn't work, that comes down to a few distinct cases:

- connection between Eyex and ED is completetly lost (never happened in game, only when starting up) and I can't control my POV at all. Remedied through restarting the ED launcher.
- when tabbing between ED and EDDiscovery or my browser, the Eyex takes a little time (less than a second) to come up again, during which time the POV points up at the ceiling. Not really pleasurable when you just drop out of witchspace...
- even with the new Infinite Screen software, controlling the side panels is difficult. Look too long at the top or bottom line, and the POV shifts sufficiently far away from the panel so that the panel switches off again (yeah, I could use the '1' and '2' keys, and I do if I need to synthesize something). Tuning the settings so that this doesn't happen, and the dead zone when looking straight ahead is too big for me to be able to properly center the view

Oh TrackIR works flawlessly, for the most part (super cool in Arma 3).

I just hate that I have to use my Astro A40s instead of my Sennheisers due to the clip design (Sennheisers are too padded), and my aversion to baseball caps.

...and ended up dropping most of my money on a HOTAS, Horizons, VoiceAttack, and a TrackIR instead.

[up]

Basically what I'm getting at is, uhh... I need friends on ED because I'm pretty sure my girlfriend is gonna leave me now.

Who needs a girlfriend when you have a Elite? You wont have time to play with both [big grin]
