Ships So I take it you hate the Imperial Eagle then??!

I know it may seem like a small matter but, I'm wondering; why is it that the Imperial Eagle is the ONLY older ship models left not to have a paint job of any kind - even though it's been in game for ages??
(I'm not including the Black Friday paint job or any other 'exclusive' paint job, I'm referring to the E;D available store purchases)

I mean even the ultra-crappy Cobra Mk. IV has at least one paint job & recently even more options have become available for the majority..... unless you fly an Imperial Eagle of course, then you get ZERO options!!
Even the drop down prefix box at the top of the forum post doesn't have Imperial Eagle listed, I had to opt. for Eagle Mk. II!!!

So what gives, have you just forgotten or is it that you all hate the Imperial Eagle so much that your just not gonna bother??!

Yeah, Black Friday paint available for those that were around.

There are also no paints for the Cutter, the Keelback, the FGS, Corvette, and the Asp Scout.

It took them well over a year to introduce any skins for the conda, and there are plenty of ships still not having any skins in the store. FDev don't hate them, they're just terrible at cashing in on the store.

Think you are right, thing is when you look at most of the ship skin packs, you'd think that a graphics artist / designer would be able to produce them fairly quickly (quite a few are the same design just with the colour pallet changed), seems to me they'd want as many options on the store as they can get, at least a couple for each ship.

I bet they aren't hiring additional artists to work on paints exclusively. In my estimation, the same artists are producing concepts and marketing material and then are working on paints where they can fit it in. I imagine, since Frontier is not a huge shop, the ROI on producing paints does not justify adding another artist to cover that side of things.

Uhm...because it's a damn fine looking ship as it is?

It's one of the least practical, but come on...it's practically the only ship you can't improve with paint jobs ;)

I'm sure you are right, I doubt the return on ship paint sales would be enough to cover a person working full time on them, still surprises me they haven't got an artist spending a little more time on them though.

Yeah...would definitely appreciate some more paint job love...going to be even more important to me when I can launch a fighter and admire my ship in something more capable than an SRV.
