So I took my Vulture to a RES.

And left behind a trail of burnt out Anaconda, Python, Dropship, Imperial Clipper....... wrecks oh and just over 1 million credits richer! Not bad for an hours work!

Thing is i only have D2 gimballed beams fitted. I'm guessing with class 3's i can kill just by looking at something! :D

It's a party, ain't it? I didn't want to skimp on enough other things to get double class 3 beams workable, so I have one beam, one pulse. It just tears things up. It makes conflict zones more bearable also because those ships have way more armor.

Class 3 pulses I'm my opinion are as good as class 3 beams on the vulture in that the fire rate ends up about the same once you're going and they don't hot up as fast.

I've tried most weapon combinations on Vera and my favourite is twin class 3 pulses

Yep same for me.

Oi. I think you'll find Vera the Vulture is mine, and I'll thank you to stop infringing my copyright.

:D

Just try it, it depends on your fighting style. Vulture is fast and really good at sticking on a target, so i prefer as much firepower over a long time, as i can get. Both, burst & beam (class3) eat way too much power to be effective - you have your target locked in front of you and wait for energy.. and wait, and wait... But if you prefer burst dmg, you can go with really expensive beam laser for like 2,4mio each. Shooting time is about 5 seconds straight with 4 pips into weapons, but the effect is really nice - shields just melt rightaway. But then the strugle for hull damage and power begins ^_^
Pulse E3/G gives me about 25sec of firepower before the capacitor is empty. And i can still shoot with 4 in shields and 2 in weapons, thats a great advantage against multiple targets (because your shields can take a hell of a beating and mainly because vulture has exposed internals - without shields even the easiest npc can do heavy damage to modules).
Note: this is for PVE, RES farming. PVP will be completly different, there i would think about a heavy beam laser + cannon/rail/plasma.

yes..the vulture is practically a war crime in the RES areas..I have started ramming sidewinders for the sport of it..barely scratches my Vultures ("The honey badger") shields..and gives me a good laugh...for extra points ramming them into a asteroid is great fun.

Earned 3.5 mil on one lucky outing...pythons and anacondas abounded..plus i do live chopping a fed dropship in half.

but yes pulse lasers are the most efficient..but I enjoyed my class 3 beam and class 3 cannon setup as well...the booms are quite fun after all the laser pinging..lol

For reference, how many times did you need to reload the instance to get a stream of big ships? I've had no luck today.

About 3-4 times max. Sometimes i get mixed instances, from eagle to conda > anything. But for me even small ships are worth it, because i get up to 4 red targets flying around - just shoot and dont stop.

With the Vulture the, weak point is power production.
I fly with C3 Beams (luv them by the way), with controlled firing they are
QUITE effective.
I doubt they will nerf the Vulture with such an obvious Achilles' heel.
