So I tried playing without the rift.....

I was setting up controls and voice attack (got a new stick and new voice software) and thats a lot easier to do in a windowed mode. So I'm playing and testing out the new settings on a 27" high end monitor, and despite the game being 10* clearer, it was just so flat and nothing, like looking at a nice painting.

In only 1.5 weeks I've been completely spoiled. I don't think I'll be able to play a cockpit based game again without it. I'm not sure if I'll be thanking the devs for this because now I've been completely spoiled.

Me too the difference between playing on a rift and a screen is night and day i would prefer playing on low settings in the rift than high setting on my screen even though its much more clear on the screen. When you play in the rift it really can become your own little story because you feel like you are really part of it that this is your world. When I tried playing on my screen everything just became so boring so i don't think i would ever play this game again without my rift.
