So I was flying my ASP without enough for insurance...

AND NOTHING HAPPENED! :D

I have an ASP which I have been working on for about a week now grinding away at trading in order to upgrade its systems.. 40 Million later, I have a Fully A class ASP (minus life support and Sensors)! The last piece, the A5 FSD was purchased about an hour ago!

I dont even know where I was.. I know I was on my way to Arouca from some obscure place 200k away, and somewhere in roughly the middle I landed for a pitstop and happened to just peek in the outfitter at the station and there it was.. all shiny and had that new FSD smell.. I just had to buy it! But I only had 3M CR at the time due to a recent A class powerplant upgrade..

So I did what any idiot pilot would do.. I sold my Class A Life support, a few tons of commodities I probably only got 1/2 what i would have if i had waited, and bought it anyhow! :)

So there I was, with a million and change insurance policy starring at me.. and 250k credits in my pocket I set out.. ON THE MOST CAREFUL VOYAGE OF MY LIFETIME! :)

I think I exited the station at a whopping 10km/hr.. watched my radar for stupid NPCs.. Full pips into shields just in case.. tucked my landing gear in early.. you name it! And entering Arouca, I did the same.. triple checked I had clearance.. Full pips to shields again.. kept my landing gear tucked away for that extra 3 feet if i needed it.. and SLLLOOOOWWWWLLY made my way into the station and onto the pad..

I uncrossed my fingers and toes, which I did earlier in the hops of not being interdicted by a python or conda.. and let out sigh of relief

Quickly I sold off all my cargo and now im back with 1.7 mill in the bank and can be reckless again with my flying ;)

Well done, that's how people who can't afford insurance should fly. Congratulations on fully upgrading the Asp.

Yep, you knew the risk and it worked out. If it hadn't you still understood that it WAS a risk and that would have been that. Congrats on the Asp :)

I would of made a note of the system/station and come back later when I had the money, I couldn't bare to lose my lovely asp without insurance.

Thanks! :) And yeah, I knew the risk.. it was fun for the remainder of the trip knowing i could loose it all.. and no.. i wouldnt have been upset *IF* i did.. i knew what i was getting into before i set out.. i just cant resist shiny things sometimes!!

:)

And yeah.. I got caught up in trying to buy it rather then thinking logically and just coming back 20 min later with the cash in hand :)

Congratulations and fly safe.

Once we have Wings, maybe us Viper / Cobra pilots can start being escorts for pilots with new ASPs but no insurance (the defensive escorts, not the other kind ;)).

Technically, you had enough in the bank to secure the basic chassis and salvage an upgrade or two to sell for rebuild money, but a crash would still have been exceedingly painful. :D

Good risk assessment!
