so ill be getting the Imperial Cutter soon , Questions.

I'll be getting it within a week but I wont be able to afford to A-Rate it any time soon. I'm grinding to get it though cause I heard it has the most cargo hold space. Can I make a serious return on my investment if I just throw some cargo bays in it and do some trading? If so about how much per hour could I make? And is there anything else I should know about it?

Don't die in it

Would avoid CGs till you can outfit it properly

Solo Mode.

Also Solo Mode. Solo Mode Solo Mode Solo Mode. Until you're comfortable flying it with a loudout/setup you're happy with.

But yes, to start, D rate everything except the FSD, get a 700+ cargo capacity and go to town.

Learn to fly with a second or two delay between input and reactions from your thrusters when parking it...it flies like a pregnant space cow. If you get going into the slot wrong, you'd better be wearing some shields or you'll be in a world of hurt [yesnod]

The Cutter goes very fast in a straight line, doesn't turn and doesn't stop too well [squeeeee]

I liked flying mine, feels like a proper big ship.

a trutter will make between 13 and 22 mio per hour doing state depending trading (medicines to outbreak systems, matching economies in boom etc.) after you have scouted your own routes of 4500-6100 cr/t/profit a-b-a, which will change up to once a day (cause states change once a day).

Don't be afraid to use smaller core internals. I'm running an engineered 6APP and have minor power issues, but I've got a lot of power draw from the weapons, boosters, SCB, hangars, ect. Just for trading, it shouldn't cause you any trouble going smaller. Keeps the rebuy down, too.

And yeah, "sub-optimal" is being generous when it comes to maneuverability. I've seen buildings that are more nimble than the Cutter.

Ditto literally everything the amazing people above have said. Thrusters are definitely a priority for maximum control because she drifts. The only thing I haven't seen mentioned is the trick to speed landing into the mail slot.

Most people will recommend a docking computer, and I can't argue against it besides the fact that you'd be giving up a super valuable slot one way or another. So if you're manually landing, you'll want to do it fast.

The trick is to put max pips into ENG, two pips to SYS for shield strength, boost to the point in front of the mail slot and then throttle to zero and spin the ship- as in, do a barrel roll. Roll her back and forth in full circles and it'll significantly slow your drift for a more controlled entrance. Honestly, best tip I ever heard for the Cutter.
