So.. I'm going out (again *sigh*) (Exploration log)

The shining stars, the gliding worlds.
Exploration is great isn't it?

So i'm going out again *sigh*

After reaching Elite i thought i would stop, but i've just realized how boring inhabited space is.
(Especially now after powerplay)

So i sold my dopeship, hopped into my old trusty exploroconda and sat my nose for the stars.

Now, there is a few things i'd like to accomplish on this journey :

1. Find a ringed earthlike
It is the only earth-like related thing i still need to find, and i'm gonna do it, no matter what!

2. Find more planetary nebulae
I've found alot of them before, but this time i'd like to find one that is not that duplicated blue bubble.

3. More to come as my journey progresses

Now, does anyone want to come with me?

I'm a bit tired of exploring alone, and considering i will be going to the intermediate 1st quadrant, which is the least discovered sector of space so far, i doubt there will anyone to meet up with.

The journey will go to the "west" outskirts of the core, then directly to the 1st quadrant.
So anyone who is up for a long haul, please reply in this thread with your commander name and i'll add you in the game!

Also i'll be making logs for the trip in this thread!
Fly safe commanders!

'Fraid I'm well into my set course for now on my own route, but I wish you a good journey just the same. Group exploration is an interesting idea though and seems like it might be fun, provided the difficulties of synchronizing schedules are sorted out.

I explore/play solo so can't join up, but good luck and it's nice to see that the game can keep people coming back to it. I was wondering what will happen when I start attaining more of my long term goals...although I'm still a long way from a 'conda!!

Right on, Commander!

Hope the devs have added more than one type of planetary nebula in the game...

Interesting finds so far :

First earth-like on trip

Normal earth-like orbiting a G class star, nothing interesting about it.
Although it was nice to find it.

Ringed Ammonia world with moons

Nothing too much interesting here, except that it has a moon so close to it's rings. Must be the reason why the rings has their distinctive form.

Interesting Earth-like

This one caught my attention. An earth-like orbiting a red and brown dwarf, especially so close is a sight of it's own. Good to finally have something really interesting discovered.

So that's the first log, there will be more the next days!

I'm still looking for someone to wing up with, so if anyone is up for a long haul, please let me know!
Fly safe!

Hey Kola2, I ran into a black hole that had your name on it not that long ago, roughly between the Rosetta and Seagull nebulas..

Now, does anyone want to come with me?

I'm already out on the farm, but you are welcome to add me if you like.

Its nice to see those green icons whilst I'm out in the inky black. I don't feel so alone.

I welcome any other explorers to add me too, the more the merrier.

Oh that must be my first black hole!
(Only found one on my first trip, and that was near rosetta)

Over the last 2 days i've been approaching the core, rather slowly, but at least i've found a few cool things on my way.
I'm approaching the core on the "west" and will from there continue to the 1st quadrant.

Now what is so interesting about this one?
Well look right for the sun.

Yup that is a gas giant.
You can actually see the first planet in the star system (The gas giant) from the earth-like!
I thought that was pretty cool.

So this one is a bit cool.
The star on the left is a Herbig Ae/Be, 10Ls away.
The star on the right however, is a Class A supergiant, 1500LS away!

Now what is so special about this one?
It's just a regular Class G.

Nope! It's actually a wolf-rayet!

"Brilliant blue" eh!

If anybody is wondering, i am still looking for wingmates.
I've found one, but the more the better.

Right now (as mentioned) i am south-west for the core, and traveling so that i will be directly west for Sagittarius A*
So if anyone is up for a long haul (You got to have at least ~33LY jumprange) please feel free to join me!

Fly safe commanders!

Hi Kola2,
I don't have the jump range to wing up but I might be able to rendezvous with you at some point over the next few days as I'm in broadly the area you mention. Since making the journey out to Sgr A* for the Buckyball Run I have been exploring in the core and have passed through the area you are coming up to.
When you talk about 'blue bubble' planetary nebulae, do you mean one of the small nebulae that encompasses just one system (typically with a neutron star at the centre)? Like these?

P.S. I didn't blank out the system names since both of these have been previously scanned by other commanders.
