So i'm wanted...

Ok, under transactions it says 5 days till i can rid myself of this bounty. Np i think, off i go, however when that timer has reached zero there is no record of the bounty. Not being in that system anymore, under status it only says no local bounty in the current system i'm in (which is true as it's a different system). My question being....How the hell do you know what fines/bounties you have in any system when the timer under transactions has run out & it's removed off the list? I looked around at the screens & as far as i can tell there is no mention of ANY outstanding fines/bounties on yourself?

After the timer pops, the Bounty will convert to a Legacy Fine (I hope I have the right words). You can then pay off the fine and clear your name.

I had that problem last night. Incurred a bounty due to an kill mission, took it knowing I will get a bounty in that system - no problems. Didn't go near said system for the required 7 days, there were enough other systems to keep me amused and busy. Logged on yesterday to find the ban had cleared, thought to myself I should fly to that system to pay the legacy fine to clear my name. But for the life of me I couldn't remember which damn system it was. Ended up flying to about 5 until I finally found the correct one.
.
It would be nice if there was a list of which systems/factions you had not just outstanding fines for but also for legacy fines as well.

Thanks for the reply. So where do i see these legacy fines listed in my ships screens? Because as far as i can tell it only shows me what system it was in (as long as the timer is still running) not what faction/sub faction it's for. If i go off flying around & forget about any bounties & they get removed from my transactions tab, i'm now flying around with bounties on my head that i myself cannot see listed anywhere or for that matter know where to go to pay the buggers off.

Funny thing is when i go back to the system i have no indication on my screen that there's a bounty on my head in that system so i have to dock, go to contacts & check. That can't be right, surely there's an easier way to know.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they don't matter to the extent you are thinking once they become Legacy Fines. Once they become a Legacy Fine, players and AI alike will not be able to scan you to attack you for that bounty. The only consequence of not paying it is that if you go back to that system and commit another crime, the Legacy Fine will add to your Wanted Status in that system. If it is an active bounty, players can scan you for that with a kill warrant scanner. Otherwise they won't know you are wanted unless you are actually in the system you have the bounty. Likewise, if the bounty becomes a Legacy Fine, you will no longer show as wanted on the regular scanner or kill warrant scanner.

Some players have stated that they have been KillWarrant scanned and their Legacy Fine became a Wanted Status, allowing other players to attack them. This has only occurred with players, and only with the K Scanner as far as I know. Unsure if this is intended or not.

So in other words, I don't think you need to worry too much about them unless its a system you are constantly active in. If I'm wrong about this, someone correct me.. because I feel like I've forgotten something.

Bah. Don't pay it off! Rack up more bounties! See how high you can score!

(it tops out at 1 million now which is a shame :( )
