So... Instancing is still terribad.

45 mins trying to get 4 people in the same wing, then finding no others players in any systems even when we split up. Only solved when all 4 players logged out of the game and came back in at roughly the same time.

Still, wings work well when you get together and other people are about.

very bad. but at least you can log out and fix it

Hmm Try visiting more populated areas and also relogging can fix some little bugs that are still roaming around.

You need to raise a support thread issue.

- Check with FD as to "net log" output settings from all clients.
- Supply net logs from all clients to FD support.

FD will then have detailed network/negotiation info from each client, and can investigate based on hard tech evidence.

Not sure this will ever be fully fixed, what with the Peer to Peer and all. A lot of very smart (and well paid) folks at very large tech companies are still having problems with reliable "public" Peer to Peer.

There's no free lunch; such is the sacrifice for saving all that money a dedicated server would cost.

My understanding was if they're on your friends list your should be able to add them to a wing regardless of what instance, system they are in, or server they are connected to. The matchmaking server should then migrate the wing member into the same instance if in the same systems. If that's not working raise a bug reports.

It doesn't always work.
I've had friends that were in a difference instance at the same station not receive wing invites. Once you are in a wing though it keeps you all together.
Sure the invite thing is just a minor bug and will be resolved.

Since 1.2 beta has worked for me most of the time, so it seems to be corner case. Report issue on bug forum and don't forget attach net log and other information.

Microsoft Azure servers is the answer ... (for the Xbox version at least)

Peer to Peer has it uses, most of the time the issue is with the way people's routers are configured .. In the Xbox 360 days before dedicated was the norm, I always set my xbox to static and forward the ports manually. It was the only way to make it 100% reliable.

Of course, if it doesn't work then automatically its the game and FD's fault, which is not always the case, just saying.
