so is mining the only real way to make money in this game?

from what i can tell bounty hunting is pointless trading is pointless but not as much as bounty hunting and exploration and passenger missions with a python are decent but not anywhere near as good as mining certain things so whats the point in playing anything other then a miner if your goal is to make money?

cause lets be honest you are going to need to make earning money your goal at somepoint

Yes.

Atm you can make very good money trading tritium; but that will be nerfed very soon. So yes mining is the only real money maker.

that kinda sucks from what i hear mining is one of the more boring things to do great if you wanna zen out and not think but still play but not exactly entertaining

Does no one think the cheap tritium is just being nice to new FC owners so they can fill up without a faff?

Trading can and is very profitable especially Bio-Waste and Beer
I don't think so. Tritium is a fuel resource that tanks due to certain system states. It could very well be by design or an oversight due to how the commodity was coded.

i had been seeing people saying on here trading seems to be getting better again and then others saying its still nothing compared to mining so it still seemed like mining is the only proper way to go if you wanna get things done at a better pace

Without a site as good as Borann, tritium trading is more profitable by a little bit if you are going min/max.

i've actually been trying to avoid mining cause the payouts seem to really break game pacing if i'm honest i'm strangely afraid to go mining outta fear of ruining the game for myself

Oh goodness, no. Right now, with this loss of Borann (RIP), trading is far and away the best route. I build my fleet at first by trading between Guayambaan and Muri. That was about 24M/hour. (And later, I realize I should have been moving LTDs, but I was still super new.)

A full tank is 1000 units. That's a lot to mine (but not terribly hard in the right places).

Mining will help offset that.

In a cutter you can pull about 120 mil an hour currently moving tritium. The route changed between yesterday and today but both days the most or near most profitable was within 4 jumps in an engineered cutter.

I agree with that sentiment. Just stick to doing regular missions then. It's not that mining is the only way to make credits it's just the fastest. You might could give LTD piracy a try. It's fun and you can pull about 20-30 million an hour if circumstances are right.

Plenty ways to earn credits in game, Mining is currently the fastest.
What you do in game and how fast you want to do it is your own call.

Cmdr Vasco is spot on, I would hasten to add it does depend on how many credits tou have to start with.

If you can afford a decent mining setup, I'm guessing Keelback level or above, then core mining gives you the best income, if you know where to go. It also increases your trading rank as well, when you sell that nice ore at a decent profit.

At other points in the game you need to do other activities, early on road to riches is a good way to make your first 10MCr-20MCR setting you up in a nice ship to go mining in. When you can afford the big ships then trading seem to take over currently, however thats a lot of credits in a single asset, so best do the other activites and engineer it.

If you wanna leech credits fast you have to do Mining, sadly. The Dangerous stuff like Thargoidhunting doesnt pay well... okay.... it pays absolute garbage. As some mentioned, Tritium is CURRENTLY also a good but not the fastest way and will be nerfed soon. FDEV has a history of nerfing everything that does make more money than mining.

It is easily possible increase yours assets by roughly 1B in month using BGS states and wing missions opportunities. Playing in active squadron where members helps each other is very helpful too. Mining atm seems as fastest (or maybe most used) way to riches, but you can get Fleet Carrier also without it in reasonable time (imo).
