So is what Anaconda and T9 look like in Virtual Reality!!

Apart from the view point being behind the chair or miving around it doesn't look any different to a rather shaky fps or mouse look or TrackIR.

You cannot experience VR without a VR headset.

Looking forward to getting one quite a lot.

Unfortunetly you are quite correct. Doesn't stop people wanting to get a glimpse though. :D :p

Just watched the first 10 mins of the video posted above in post 15. He really sums it up, it's the scale that really get's you in VR, hence why I could just fly back and forth between stations and not get bored, the scale can't be translated to a video or screenshot. Would have been fun to see his reaction in a big ship with SS turned on and a better hud colour for clarity.

I never thought I would get to experience something like this in my lifetime. Can only imagine what our grandchildren will be using!

Have you seen the video from The Void? Totally amazing stuff...just can't wait to see where VR goes in the next few years. And we aren't even talking decades any more. I suspect this technology will evolve very fast...

Hmmm considering what this generation have used the internet for - perhaps you really don't want to imagine what our grandchildren will be using VR for? :D

I experienced VR at the Trocadero at Piccadilly Circus when I was about 15 years old (which was a disturbingly long time ago) - it was on very low res screens, chunky equipment and at very low framerates - I have been waiting for OR (or its like) since then - hopefully less than 12 months to go now.

Was that the one controlling the Mechs? We are probably around the same age (I'm 37) Used to head down to the Trocadero as a teenager.

I never played that one myself. I did play the fighter plane combat sim though - remember struggling to land on the aircraft carrier! :D

For all who owns a DK2 : you must also try the Alien Isolation with DK, currently i have completed it in VR - by times i could not decide what is better. Anyway at the moment them both are the best DK expirience ever.

The Anaconda and T9 cockpits are HUGE in the rift... you really want to get up and walk around. Ironically, my favorite cockpit to fly in, in the rift... is the sidewinder.

I am older than you, so either you were a young teenager or I was older than I remember or perhaps it was around for longer than I realised.

But those are definately the ones.

Those are the ones. Walden (or Waldon) Industries made them. Shows what an impression it made if I remember that I guess.

Roll on OR + the SDK + the Unity3d files so I can immerse myself in a world of my own making (as well as OR + ED of course).

This is pretty easy to do with all the assets on the Unity store...I've been doing it myself. :)

This is an FPS right? How did you find motion sickness as the FP demo's I've tried eg rift arcade have had a negative effect on me in an instant. (Sorry OP!)

Been following Rift for a while now, just for this game. The anaconda video looks great, and I can guess it only looks better once you get into combat! Rift was mentioned the other day as consumer version available early 2016, so I'll have to hold out until then (can't afford DK2 and then to upgrade again).
