...Assuming I get back to human space intact of course.

After 2 months of scanning just about every non-rock/ice planet and asteroid field between Pand and Sagitarius A I arrived at the core today. This was a second attempt as I foolishly went afk and got distracted while scooping and lost a month's progress. So after almost exactly 2 months I arrived. I've found at least 12 ELWs, 2 black holes, countless waterworlds and gas giants. For the run home I'm only stopping for earthlike worlds.

So while I'm going to get a DB Explorer to do a cross galaxy run, but first I want to do some bounty hunting. I have a Cobra which I've used to hunt before but I want to upgrade. I would appreciate some advise as I haven't been in combat in over 3 months. I understand the AI has improved, and that FF is a little more forgiving, beyond that I was as well be a noob.

Buy a vulture for hunting. Really great for combat and relatively cheap. Here is my Vulture

Edit. you might wanna change the hull reinforcement for Fuel scoop so you can travel a bit.

And then there are some nice permanent discounts on ships and modules around.
I assume you are turning everything in at Lembava so you instantly are top 5% in the cg for a little extra income?
After that, visit Diaguandri, Ray Gateway, where they have 15 ships 15% off, including Vulture, Python and Anaconda.

If you're going to Lembava, take all the usual precautions.

There are a few emperialists who are turkey shooting returning explorers in that system.

Interdictions and firing immediately with no warnings. Happy to wing up in a vulture with you if needed. Have one stored in the system there.

LOL, probably not, will take it slow going in is all. And I sacrificed a few LYs in jump capacity to keep a decent shield on the old asp because that 5-10% hull it protects against pirates on the frontier can be the difference between starting over after hitting a few binaries and black holes.

Good luck, it's a haul and space madness is very, very real. Check out the Explorer's section, this one guy made almost 90 mil just from hitting the foghorn and jumping. Are you scanning or just jumping?

To be dead honest, I switch to solo mode before entering "civilized" space after longer exploration trips; I would not handle getting shot down by a cmdr and lose all my data very well.

Thanks for the tips all, def gonna grab a vulture when I get back, does anyone know if the data is bound to the ship? Like if I hit where I have my cobra stored before going to Lembava can I still sell the data?

You can swap ships. I usually switch to my Clipper in a restricted allied system before I go to sell my data. That has saved my bacon twice already.

Wait so if I leave my combat ship at the edge of civ space I can hop into it to go sell the data as opposed to lugging my explorer all the way into civ space?

Err no. Think youll find it was Fed/alliance scum that were in sirus space. We came to help clear them out after hearing that they were targeting returning exlplorers.
