So, just bought my first Python. What's it best at and how should I build it?

I've made a lot of moneyz with my Python transporting passengers.
It is also surprisingly manouvrable for its size and can probably be turned into a mean combat ship if you know what you're doing (I'm not).

My favourite ship by far.

I assume this is for PVE as the python is a flying coffin in open. It's good at everything but excellent at nothing. It's not cheap to upgrade either, so why did you not update the Vette?
From memory I think the rebuy on my Python that I sold ages ago was 12.6 million, and the rebuy on my Vette is just over 28 million.

If you want fast money, by an Aspx and fit a class 6 passenger cabin.

There's plenty of PVE in Open. I think you want to say "PVP combat".

It's a good PvE pirate. Find an arnarchy system, find a ring, steal cargo.

It has enough room to carry stuff and have limpets all around.

I also initiated myself to mining in one. Gosh I hope they improve mining.

Have to agree with this. The ship isn't ideal for the PVP meta dueling and the like, but if properly outfitted and not min/maxed for trading or similar, it should be able to hold its own moderately well, or at least get out of trouble. This is generally how I prefer to use mine, well loaded, but with enough room for a bit of exploration and trading, passenger missions, or CGs.

But as mentioned previously, I generally prefer using the smaller ships in the game for how they handle. This ship is the largest I care to own in the game and it has come in handy on occasion.

OP.
Once you've got friendly/allied local rep in an Extraction economy, you can use them for running 180T haulage missions of gold or palladium. A typical mission pays 6 million plus for a 15 min round trip.

Once mining missions are back, I'll be using mine for mining (obviously) at pristine metallic rings (3 Ps - Painite, Platinum, Palladium).

You can also do some haz res bounty hunting, but I don't find the python as much fun as the FAS for combat.
