so many mission failures...?!?

I thought this Sunday to fly some missions and I am shocked to recognize how many mission types are totally bugged that they can not be fulfilled. [mad]

Therefore I've written several bug tickets instat of having fun with this game today.

I don't really have any issues with the missions, apart from the need of a little thought.

Apart from some missions failing before the timer runs out, I never encountered a bug. What mission types do you have problems with?

It seems like he was going on a rant, one bug report is complaining about Cobra's attacking him in his Anaconda. Another bug report is due to not understanding how the delivery missions work, he's upset that he has to fly to another port to find computer components, and then deliver them somewhere else (he would prefer to have the components at the station that gave the mission)

On another mission he's complaining because he's being followed into an instance by an NPC (package delivery missions).

Two other bug reports are likely genuine, one is about an incorrect mission timer, the other about merits in powerplay.

Missions since ED release are simple and basic. Realy a wasting of time since Horizons release, because many were broken. Maybe after 2.1 it changes for the better.

I stopped taking anything that have anything to do with USS in the space.. That thing wont show up when I need one,.. been like few times wasting 4-5 hours for nothing n end up abandoned the missions..

and.. to deliver some components to a station which the station itself already has.. so I would not need to search for it, pointless mission.... and then two other bugs which I am bored to write in an aditional bug report. One is that I am getting annoyed by an NPC who wants to meet me altough I have met him already and declined to deliver his goods somewhere else... but he does not stop to meet me again in every system I fly to... perhaps I should kill him?

A lot of mission timer bugs are players not realizing that there is no mission timer, but rather that mission is using actual clock times.

That's why it's a bug and... annoying, because this bug seems to be unfixed for many weeks although it is known.

These have become quite rare, I mostly see this for charity missions and sometimes on multi-part missions. Easy missions, not pointless, as they still earn rank and/or money.

You don't seem to understand that for the MMO aspect of the game, everything is designed to run on real time. This includes the mission timers. So not a bug, just your opinion about a game design you don't like.

If I receive a mission at let's say 12:00 and I should wait for an NPC showing up at 9:00... how should I do this?
Or... this one I had also...

I receive a mission at 9:00 and the NPC should show up at 13:00. The time difference between England and Germany is only 1 hour. So I should come back in 2 or 3 hours hoping to find that NPC?
Additionally I aspect that if I recieve a mission the game must take account the date & time of the player. You can't expect that every player must guess what the time difference between the game and his own time should be. If this is the expectation of the mission design then know one will use these type of missions... (well at leat all non UK players).

All times in ED are UTC (which is GMT without Daylight Savings Time). The time is displayed in stations and (come 2.1) on a dashboard clock. Also, it is not hard to calculate. For Germany, the time difference is currently UTC+2 (due to DST). UTC is a must in a game where people from basically every time zone meet. Not to mention local DST rules.

Also, I have never seen a 4 hour wait for a mission. 15 minutes to an hour, tops.

Wait until 9 to meet the NPC (doesn't have to be in the same game session, just at the right time)

Pretty much that. :D

didn't seen missions where you need to wait for hours to rendezvous.
it's always +10-20 minutes from time mission offered.

i would suggest to avoid self insult and pointless frustration...dont even bother to open the BB. Pretend that the entire BB is like the 10% bug...

Then I need to wait one day for coming back tomrrow morning? No Sir :)

The time between issuing the mission and meeting time is 15-20 minutes tops. Never saw longer. It's just enough to resolve any matters that need priority and make your way to the target system.
And it's always in-game time. You can check it at stations and in galaxy map, you don't have to calculate time zones. :)

I definitely had more than 3 hour of time difference between, minus 2 hours, 1 hour at least!
And I would expect that the game uses the local time of the player to calcualte the mission time.
If not then I would call it a bad mission design and I won't play these sort of missions again, as well as many other players I guess.
