So Many Ships Are Doomed! :(

Too true! I was just joking with some others about this.

DOOOOOOOMED. :D

Jenner, I went from an F-16A, to a Cessna 152. From a 13,000 ft base runway, to a 2500 ft grass field.

Somehow, I survived the comedown. The C-152 was *my* airplane, and I did all the maintenance. I flew when I wanted to, not when they told me to.

Some people are going overboard on the new ships. They need to calm down a bit. In a very short time, the new car smell will wear off.

If the mamba is all round better than the FDL, they'll be problems. Lol
But I'm assuming it's going to be quite bad at something.

Krait Phantom... Not sure, didn't see it in action for long. But those engine sounds!

I'm getting one just for that.

Personally I choose ships for look and feel as well as module slots and stats, so none of my ships are doomed.

Oh dear, a Cessna driver. My condolences.

No wonder you're so miserable all the time.

There are too many damn snakes on this galactic plane! Next ship definitely need to be some snake killer like the mongoose or honeybadger :p
I wonder if theres some reason most ships in this game are named after snakes, wouldn't it make sense for a bunch of ship to be named after birds as well? Snake eating birds especially

All those domed ships [up]

Mamba has domed cockpit (finally centered yeah)
FdL has domed cockpit too (not centered :()
Imp Courier has F16-like domed cockpit.
All those domed Lakon cockpits...

I hope more ships will be domed.

Ooooh, dOOmed you say? Sorry, not yet :D

I think it's great to have so many more ships. I have loved my Cobra and my T10 throughout all of the recent ship additions without wavering, although they're not the 'best' at anything. Those, a T6, a Clipper and maybe a Mamba and I'm happy. Someone else will have a different top five. Being 'best' doesn't seem to affect joy of ownership to most people. But choice is always good.

I think we now have a great selection of ships, and it's time for FDev to put new ships on the backburner for a year or two so those dev resources can be focused on other aspects of the game.

The ship selection in Elite is really strong. Nice work FDev!

I agree with Adam here. ;)

Agree.

The past year we got plenty of ships, combat, multipurpose, etc, and I really wanted an addition to exploration, and it looks like we got one, so I'm content. No need for more ships now.

What we need is one or two SRVs. I'd like to see one with more cargo space for the planetary pickup missions. It's a lot of driving back and forth sometimes. Another SRV would be something for exploration perhaps, sturdier, can take more beating, longer fuel range, different mining method than shooting rocks, and more for surveying. Don't know. I just like to have options and choices.

Another thing they should really expand on is the scenarios and missions in general. There's plenty that could be done better there.

I'd love to see a super-sidewinder with a bunch of useless buffs :D

Give it the longest jump range of any ship, but not the optional slots to fit all the exploration modules.

Give it a class 6 or 7 PD, but still only uses two small hardpoints.

And, of course, make sure it's white and shiny so it can bask.
