As much as I love this game I do hope that Frontier will soon revert to the level of difficulty experienced in premium beta days, and perhaps even up the ante a notch or two in the process. I remember when attacking one NPC flying with 2 others would result in all 3 turning on you. That was both challenging and lots of fun, and frankly what I was expecting from some of these naval rank progression missions - particularly when you drop in on 3 pirates going after a bunch of traders in a USS. But alas, 'tis no more. And so, with this mechanic gone and additional crutches added (eg shield cells), the missions are bit trivial. Would love to see them increased in difficulty over time - perhaps even make me repeatable for material reputation or monetary rewards. Heck, including some dangerous, deadly or Elite NPCs in some high end ships would be cool too!
Generally speaking I want this game to be harder, more of a challenge. I love it, but would really appreciate more of a sense of danger. I suppose I could fly around in a Hauler with one fixed pulse laser and no other modules, but I'd like to see more danger at all ship ownership/equipment levels.
One random idea (which would also make rank progression missions a bit harder as many take place in anarchy space): make anarchy systems something to be really frightened of. Increase frequency of interdictions, increase NPC skill and ship/equipment levels and of course increase bounty payouts and occurrence of valuable stolen loot as well. But make these systems super challenging for anyone spending more than a minute or so in them.... Just an idea.
