So, nothing else than static stuff in our Galaxy?

Hello commanders :)

I didn't travelled as far as some commanders here... and the reason is easy to understand: there is nothing else then 'static' elements... ok, planets, suns, moons etc.... are moving on their orbit... some stars are spinning faster... but we don't get anything else.

Missing stuff?

Where are velocity stars? Blasting gases? Twin star system 'eating' each other?! Some players here want more multiplayer features... and I'm sure they'll come slowly but surely (starting with the wings in 1.2), but... I'm just personaly a bit frustrated of what the graphics and physics are offering...

What?

I miss, gravitational attractions (they where playing a big role in the previous elite games... remembering being stuck on a planet cause I simply was too heavy to fight against the attraction of the planet). Now, I don't wann compare to eve or x-series, but... yes but..... personaly, in the GRAPHICAL way they offer way better and nicer graphics, at this point, I'm really frustrated with ED! I went to some nebulars and to be honest, I always saw the same things. Stars (from red to white ones), black holes, planets with or w/o rings...

I now slowly come to a point where it becomes slowly 'boring', graphically I mean. It's not a rant and I'm not complaining. Today's games are just so terrifying rich in graphics, that ED now leaves me hungry for way more to discover, than only the same things again and again...

I hope there will be more in the future... not that ED isn't beautifull, it's just... way too much repeating graphics.

Well, again, my opinion, I still believe, love and play ED... with a growing frustration of not getting enough back out of it anymore

:D Thanks for reading, hope you did understood it right, what I meant, what I'm missing, the more I play it ;-)

To be honest, I kinda agree. There's a lot of stuff missing from the game. I checked out the VELA PULSAR the other day. Looked like the same old neutron star.

Most of us explorer types are longing for some new celestial... stuff to be added.

In the meantime, you should play Kerbal Space Program if you haven't already - just getting into orbit feels like a great achievement, due to realistic physics, and landing on the moon feels as significant as if the year were 1969. Almost.

Just in-case anyone's interested, this is the Vela Pulsar:

I dont know if the game is able to take on gravity to any believable degree (in space anyway). For instance, you would never be able to skim a star at 30km/s (you would quickly be pulled into the star). 30km/s puts you at 1au from a star the mass of our sun. So they would have to change the whole dynamics of how to scoop stars or face the wrath of physics knit pickers. Not to mention dealing with what happens when you drop out of supercruise too close to something.

edit: and I wouldn't want to be anywhere close to the jets from that pulsar. Instant-death.

Yeah, I'd say that the actual MW is like a 'screen shot' at a certain moment, without being able to evolve in time, as the ED-engine works in one way and won't be able to include such big things like velicity stars, as said above, some traveling at 30Km/s somewhere around, and for sure changing some orbits of encountered planet systems around.

Any way, I hope, one day, it becomes closer to that. It's elite DANGEROUS... the space is dangerous for itself already... just taking a picture of our MW as for ED is good enough... and would be a HELL of a HARDCORE mode if things would have been rendered as real as it gets... (pulsars, jets, velocity stars, black holes, and so on...)
