So NPC ships in EDO seem a little ubalanced, or is it me (an observation)

before i go anywhere im an elite combat rank so im not sure if this affects other instance with cmdrs of a lower rank (so bear with me)

An interesting observation i made today as i was switching between Horizons and Odyssey (mainly as the lighting in the area i was in was BORKED in EDO).. but i noticed that 95% in EDO Npc ships have the Engineered Phasing Sequence on weapons that are not supposed to use it (like beams lasers) and its pretty much every ship i encounter...

Yet in Horizons its more balanced with a veriety of modifications making for more a rounded (less one sided) battles and survivability to go the long haul (especially in pirate and combat zones)..

The only reason my ship in EDO is surviving is cos i massively over engineered her, i personally think FDEV should put the balance back in, instead of making shield penertrating UBER ships especially since players can only equip Phasing sequence on certain lasers (and beams aint one of them) plus it unbalances the game for newer un engineered players who could get wiped out in a second..

im gonna try and get some footage to show it of to them later but for right now most NPC's are a tad TOO OP even with a massively engineered ship like my cutter wich scrapes by now by the skin of her teeth in EDO but in Horizons puts up a good fair fight (wich is more fun).

when in EDO an ASP can cut right through class 8 shields (modified) and reactive armour (again modified) and several shield boosters (agian all modified) plus two armour reinforcement modules (you guessed it Modified) taking me down in one to 5 shots to 86% hull is a tad suspect.

i d like to hear any cmdrs thoughts if they have encountered this also :) o7

Phasing Sequence mods does not recognizes armour resistances... they do absolute damage of 10% of the weapon damage figure. Also, no internal module damage whilst your shields still up.

But you may be right... sometimes NPCs are carrying weapons with stats beyond what could be achieved by player via engineering. Even in Horizons I got some assassintaion missions and a Phyton was the target... with shields way over specs... took me quite some time to kill it with my iCutter.

But hey, this would be just another broken thing to EDO's list... so, yeah...

Could you please be more specific on cases where I can find such npcs? Because I did bunch of czs and bh but do not have such observations.

That's not new. It was in Horizons also.
EDO .. Barnard's Star any of the Pirate Activity zones (its where i noticed it) and like i said on the OP im at top combat rank so it may not affect lower ranked pilots so thats what im curious about as if its intened as end game combat .. fair point but if it affects all its gonna cause issues.. its why i asked for the feed back :) there is a big difference between pve on horizons and edo now in ships

Pirate Activity POIs all the way contain engineered ships. It is by design for the pilots who want more challenges. It was in Horizons also.
Also I do not understand reasons why and how "newer un engineered players" may appear in such places (Threat 6, right?).

never encountered it in horizons but fair point

Pirate Activity Detected signal sources were added in the Chapter Two (3.1) update of Elite Dangerous: Beyond.
