So once again I wake up from a night of drinking and my ship is toast....

And all that exploration data too... Tough break and the chances of dying in deep space must be quite remote

its a real bummer to loose it, but as it is self inflicted I have no room to complain.

I was just curious what killed me, other than stupidity. As a full tank of gas on Asp should have lasted hours in SC and i did not think it was possible to collide with a planet. The flying into a star and overheating seems most likely.

Maybe one day they will introduce a retards log to explain such things. They should also consider recording such events to make a video feature in the newsletter...good entertainment for everyone else...car crash TV.

You see, when you drink beer, you must realise the beer goes straight in to your ships tank!!
so when you pass out, so does your ship, and at that distance you cant engage auto dock and as
it is not self aware, it doesn't do it itself, so scrub one ship!! the moral of this story Cmdr, is don't drink and drive.

Wise words and all things in a sober condition I am well aware of and consider.

But you forget kind sir/madam that drunk people are utter morons and have no chance of following such a complicated procedure:p

I think the idea is, do that BEFORE drinking, so when drunk and wanting to fly - you're never going to turn it all back on to get going again ;)

Yeah that looks like the best idea if out exploring. Didnt process it properly when i read it . A solid alternative to the sidey solution I use in occupied space.

I have lost 2 ships to the demon drink; but I do remember how.
Both heading into stations; first was before speed limits and I was boosting for the letter box and it moved? Second, I was heading into a hostile station and I knew i was running out of time, consciousness wise and I have docked at hostile stations before. Could not be bothered to change the station for a non hostile one, so being big brave and stupid; I just went for it. No chance, don't even know which ship killed me.
