Am I missing something or are there zero systems in outbreak currently? Its quite hard to get pharmaceutical isolaters if the state they spawn in doesn't exist :p, if anyone knows of one currently mind sharing? I've panned all over the bubble with the filter on but can't see any dots.

If you can't find zombie infested systems, or can't find the isolators in one, check the mission boards. Ive got two of them from doing missions yesterday.


edit: I just got three isolators back to back from missions. thank you, rngesus.

thanks guys - I was already doing the filter and zooming around but I really couldn't see any at all, i'll check the ones listed!

Set the map filter to Outbreak, ensure there are no population filters active.

Centre up with Sirius, then zoom out a bit, and head directly away from the core (along the galactic line). There's 4-5 about 80-100ly from there.
It's where I found mine.
May need to zoom out more, or raise or lower the cursor to see.


Can't remember the name, sorry!
But it was a tiny but spread out system.
2 close orbiting stars, and a single planet with an outpost 20,000ls away.

All I did was fly directly 'up' (away from everything), for about 2000ls, then flew towards the outpost fairly slowly until I found a high grade USS.

Remember to take limpets and a controller, and clear space in your inventory!

For me the best way is somehow reversed:
- open galactic map
- navigate on map and choose a region to check
- open filter menu
- unmark outbreak, yeah unmark
- watch what system disappear from map
- if no system disappear choose another region and repeat
Yeah i know seems backward, but for me it worked just fine.

I've found a new one on me, a debris field in an Outbreak system USS but no isolators, are they in a specific type of USS?

Also are Outbreaks contagious? Can you spread them from place to place?

I spent nearly 2 hours last night... about 20-40 minutes in 3 systems all outbreak... all around 1200Ls from the main star above the orbit plane..... not a single USS other than degraded.... total waste of time .... this is one of the most frustrating gathering elements i've known for engineers

The problem with using the gal map to search for outbreaks is they only show up if the controlling faction is in outbreak. In my experience it is more likely to be the factions with low influence levels that are suffering outbreaks and famines rather than the system controller. I don't have any tips for finding them other than checking all the factions on the system map in a quiet area.

I play the BGS and have been monitoring outbreaks in my area, as far as I can tell they don't spread but if a faction is in multiple systems it will be experiencing outbreak in all of them.

I been in 5 or 6 outbreak system for PI, nothing, spend like 7 hours, found one high grade emissions with imperial shielding inside. So I got out of empire zone to Velis, and got 42 in less than one hour, all in 3 high grade emission in deep space. Yeah

Outbreak systems only last for a few days at most so you'll always need to filter and scan the navmap regularly, they also take a little while to appear on the the navmap so pan around and they'll appear usually nearer the edge of the bubble, also check the missions for basic/advanced medicines as that can indicate that nearby systems are in an outbreak state.

I found most of mine over 5000 LS above/below the orbital plane in high grade signal sources, get to that level and start a slow spiral search and check all the signal sources.

I was doing some philanthropic donations to famine and outbreak systems this weekend and found tons of both types of systems just using the filter. There was a cluster in Mahon space and one near Li Yong Rui western border.

Every time I've gone hunting for pharmaceutical isolators, I've found them 4000-5500ls above or below the plane within systems that listed Outbreak on the Galmap. They were always be in a HGE, usually with a debris field, and 4-5 objects (12-15 items). If I don't find the HGE within 15-20 minutes, I move to the next system. I've had better luck keeping a bit of throttle forward rather than sitting at 30km/s in supercruise.
