So...services filter?

The services filter in the map doesn't appear to actually do anything. Are we supposed to just fly around randomly until we find material traders?

You can only filter for Brokers you have already found.

This may help.

Locations material traders can be found are:
- Raw Materials Trader - Found at extraction and refinery economies, only trades in raw material found on planet surfaces and planetary rings.
- Manufactured Materials Trader - Found at industrial economies, only trades in manufactured materials.
- Encoded Materials Trader - Found at High Tech and Military economies, only trades in encoded materials.
- Systems also need to be mid to high security systems and have populations between 1,000,000 and 22,000,000.
Materials Trades will not show up in lawless and anarchy systems.
Materials Traders will not show up at stations that are currently controlled by a criminal faction.
Materials Traders will be unavailable when a station is damaged, under repair or put on lockdown.
Horizons is required to use Material traders.
Material traders will appear in the Human Bubble, Colonia and Pleiades regions at economies types listed above.

So they hope people won't find them before they have had a change to hotfix them to actually work? [haha]

Just kidding, of course... ;)

During the Beta, we had all three types within earshot of our starting point, and I found the filter to be all but useless. Even though I was basically sitting right on top of all three types and had already visited all three, when I turned that filter on, I saw no state change.

I had to ZOOM into the GMAP really close to actually see the "teeny tiny" pinhead sized circles that represented each trader. Defined by equally hard to see color choices, with RED being the only one that stood out. The other two being a dark blue and an almost impossible to see dark violet.

I reported this "Hot Mess" in the Beta Bug Reports section on day one. Looks like it was ignored.

What else is new? :(

It's always been the case that you only have data for systems you've visited. Why is it a problem now? Have we become too lazy with all the new QoL features coming our way?

That's wrong, you can see systems maps for hundreds (thousands?) of systems within the bubble without visiting them, or can buy the data right on the system map, and you also didnt have to search for engineers etc without know where they are.

apart from that, this is just another tedious feature. In my opinion, there should simply be all kind of material traders at any engineer. I enjoy the fact that you can trade materials now, I dont enjoy flying around from station to station to search for them now...

You can buy data only for systems within 20LY range of your location and that hasn't changed.
Admit it, you've seen a new cool feature and immediately switched your brain to instant gratification mentality.

Play the game. It will all come together. You don't have to have everything today. ;)

You mean those systems I can buy exploration data for, without actually ever going there?
And those systems I can buy trading data for, without actually ever going there?

Yeah, why would anyone want that.

shock horror you actually have to play the game and discover things instead of frontier handing it all on the plate for you.

Well done Frontier.

Yup, here we go. I'll pass, thanks for this thread.
Some things just never change.

Yeah, see, this is my problem right there.
Can this information be in the game, PLEASE, Frontier?
When did it become acceptable for such crucial information to be EVERYWHERE except for within the game?

Ever since alpha.

That's why Frontier caved when the third party devs went on strike. :)
