Come to think of it there might be two. Two different areas where huge graveyards across systems exist. The guardians were beaten back at first. They would’ve made a defensive line to protect core systems while they planned their counterattack. The whole time you are trying to recover and plan to defend yourself your front lines are being hit. So the battle raged on while they deciphered the language and planned to retaliate. Then the guardians went on the offensive.
