So the Robigo runs...

This still works taking tourists to Sothis Atmospherics and back. Pretty much a guaranteed 17-24 million every 15 minutes or ~10 million if one is going for three grade 5 and later three grade 4 materials. The best setup is an engineered very fast Python with 6 economy passenger cabins, class 3 guardian booster so that it is two jumps instead of three and class 3 shields. Add in excellent manual flying skills. Here's my engineered Robigo build.

Note when in the mood for credits I fly a much better well equipped Python from the bubble to to Brunel Hub in Ceos which has pretty decent outfitting. This Python has empty cargo racks, a 6A fuel scoop, 5A shield generator, 5H guardian FSD, detailed discovery scanner and a 2G planetary vehicle hangar all engineered when possible. I find something interesting along the way then I can check it out or gather planetary mats when desired. Upon arrival I store this gear replacing them with the Robigo setup gear I already have stored there. Later a player with credits and mats can just keep a dedicated Python there with both outfitting setups, call for a "taxi" then create a dedicated Python in the bubble back home.

But before doing this a player needs to be allied with every faction in the Sothis. Robigo and why not Ceos systems. Why because one will be hauling illegal passengers and if allied with them they will rarely if ever scan your ship. Get scanned and the missions fail with a fine. Then a player per their game status just needs to be aware of their surroundings and any combat ships that might be interested in them. Power Play for one example. Also these are Solo mode missions as getting scanned even by friendlies and missions fail. If a player wants to look around in Group or Open modes don't have any passengers. Add in some fast manual approaches not going in a straight line and it gets boring making all these easy credits.

Still the bubble also has some recent lucrative cargo missions. I've found a 50 million payment costing me 19 million to purchase the commodities and three trips in a 704 cargo/combat Cutter to complete. I welcome NPC interdictions to break up the boredom. My long range beams take out any enemy shields {usually an Anaconda or Type-10} and my overcharged high capacity Multi-Cannons finish them off.

What works for a combat Cutter might I suggest reverse max thrusters while in combat. NPCs looking for a joust cannot deal with this. When they decide to run forward thrusters and the excellent Cutter boost to complete the kill. They never get away with the mass lock and pick up the mats. PvP is another story taking out those reverb torpedoes with the long range beams which will drop any shields. They are pretty slow. Still typically one ship fired those torps. Two others will be waiting to take out your FSD then leisurely tear your hull/modules apart. It is after all PvP. :)

Regards

I can do maybe two or three passenger runs before I have to abandon that career. It's boring. I cannot imagine anyone taking the "twin nebula" or whatever passengers unless they are going anyhow, and are planning on coming back any time soon.

I've run Robigo Mines for 500m and materials, using a Python fit similarly to yours.

Never fired a single shot. Not once. Never needed to.

Nor have I ever fired a shot at Sothis. A well engineered Python is a credit making machine often better than a trader Cutter. Still I load up a Cutter hoping for an interdiction.

I use passengers to chart exploration routes. I figure, I may as well make 50m stopping at Sag A*. I'm running a T-9 out of Rohini and it makes a lot running passengers, jumping neutron stars, and stopping for the occasional selfie or planetary landing.

If exploration is your thing then making a lot of credits is secondary. I understand with my second PC account just for exploring.Hard to beat an engineered Orca. Luckily I'm docked at a station 10,000 LY from the bubble so with the update I get another internal module.

It's not, and it's not. Though, with the new scanners I find myself exploring more.

I understand. I made Explorer Elite a year plus ago so exploration credits don't matter to me. I also love the new exploration tools. They give me something to do in the black versus honking and moving on. 600 jumps to Colonia. It can get pretty dull. My three dogs won't put up with it wanting be petted after 300 jumps. If you have a wife or girl friend you will need to deal with them after every 100 jumps! Getting to Colonia is not cheap in real life.
