Oh, I know that - the base models of all ships are very base. I'm more curious by the Utility BDS than anything else.
Well, on my maxed out Beluga build I kept an advanced discovery scanner, and detailed surface scanner, passenger missions are a great way of earning exploration ranks as a bonus

Sadly, no, it still occupies internal slot.
It's a visual bug with ship stats page. Only BDS\IDS\ADS are shown as "Utility mounts". Shield boosters, chaffs, heatsinks and other stuff that goes into actual utility mounts is shown as "Optional internal".

Love the Beluga in all aspects except one; SUCH a bad tank.
Now I get it, it's a Liner, not a military or industrial vessel. I still find it hard to believe that corporate CEOs and high-profile celebrities would opt to fly somewhere in something that, when equipped with a 6A shield, has less shields than a 2A-rated Sidewinder.
I have been interdicted once in my Beluga and escaped at the fastest possible moment (submit, cooldown, charge, and escape) but a couple medium pulse laser shots still stripped me to 0 shields and 62% hull.
I'd happily sacrifice ALL its hardpoints to have a decent tank. It having a fighter feels pointless. It will fall apart before the fighter is even deployed.
Other than that I adore the Beluga, but it's a dust-gatherer on my shelf for now sadly.

Only thing I know about the Beluga is that the NPC's piloting them will try to ram/crush you.
