try jumping to a binary system and the navy point is in between the stars and they are that close you end up inside one of the stars. the ships computer is going crazy. smoke everywhere lights flashing, heat off the chart ready to explode. turn to get out. hit thrusters , everything in chaos hit thrusters, computer say critical, hit thrusters. computer clutching, ui distorting. hit thrusters starting the get out of the star, hit thrusters. clear, cockpit smoking, temp back to normal, hit FSD. that was close carrying $1.6m in cargo in T7. get to port. hull down to 10% systems screwed. repair everything. only made half the profit on return. ok need bigger FSD to avoid that system.
That actually sounds interesting, though it might be difficult to actually do on this scale planetary impacts that is, though maybe meteor strikes threatening places?Instead of "fixing" this in the immediately obvious way, may I nominate this finding to be a cosmic collision event, spawning a bunch of Community goals, BB missions, and other good stuff as we bring in scientists, rush for resources spread by the resulting kerblooie, and so on?

That's how stars reproduce. It's laying an egg...
