So uh... "Founder or Elite" mission requirements...

So I was hanging out in friendly space, and I ran into a mission that was "available but unobtainable". In red was the required combat rank, "Founder or Elite".

But here's the thing, see... I'm a kickstarter backer. Aren't I supposed to qualify for these?

Isn't it time to stop throwing those insightful, wonderful (and appreciated) backers, in-game bones?

I saw one of these special Founder/Elite missions the other night - it was to haul scrap, and paid ~2500 credits for the lot; that isn't quite what I thought FD were going to implement. I had to re-read the description twice to make sure I wasn't missing some secret sub-plot, worthy of the highest ranks in the game.

In-game bones ?

Unusual way to reference a perk that was offered 3 years ago and FD are finally starting to honor them. As someone else said, you could do that mission too once you reach Elite (so it's not like we're getting something that you're can't have)

"Well done Pilot .. after months and months of dedicated hauling around the galaxy proving your worth to society and climbing the ranks as an Elite trader with a net profit worth over 1 billion credits I now want you to move this scrap for 2,500credits .. I know it's worth your time so sign up sunshine and let's get a trucking"

I agree - quite ... deflated too about it.

Well they have got some very good ones too. Saw one last night for almost 1.1 mill cr to kill 14 pirates. Not too shabby imo.

Aye, did a Pirate-Kill mission last night. Killing 20 pirates netted me 2 225 000 and extra 300 000 accumulated bounties between them. Not bad for a half-hour mission. Don't see them too often though, which is also obviously a good thing.

How did you find the 20 pirates? Interdictor, USS, RES, nav beacon?

I'm surprised they didn't do this for many things in the game, just think how cool it will be if you needed specific rank levels to fly different ships, dock with specific stations, purchase cargo or ship modules.

Agreed, the moment the rank to reward ratio is unbalanced, with far too much emphasis on rank.

Additionally, it would be nice to see ship specific* missions, as well as making cargo missions do able in multiple trips. Both would help players who are in smaller ships.

EDIT * and hold size limited missions too.

If you had accepted the mission, perhaps would you have received a bounty on your head for impersonation (title of nobility) ?
