So what are your current player goals?

The wonderful thing about sandbox games is seeing the things other players find to do.
So what are your current goals, and do you have a long term goal?

For myself:
Get a Federal Corvette and kit it out.
Explore - find an earthlike (preferably with a landable moon) in an unclaimed system, and claim it for myself. (closer to the current bubble the better!)
Gain Elite status
Find the ultimate planet for canyon racing

To make it to triple elite. I just have exploring to go and I'm a good way along. I estimate about 2 or 3 more weeks since I can't spend too much time ingame right now.

If I were to grind it out, maybe 3 or 4 days, but who wants that?

Do what ever i feel like to do when i log in. Really long term coal is to get rank for cutter but that won't happen in couple years if frontier doesn't buff military ranking progression a lot with 2.2.

No real long-term goals. Almost at deadly, and looking at getting some extra credits/modules for module storage/beluga liner.

To turn the engines off... :S

I haven't fired ED up for so long I've forgotten the controls and they've changed the whole interface for the control menu.:O How do I turn engines off and coast/float along, once I reached the speed I want ?

Reduce fleet size.
Thinking of ending up with:
Corvette
FDL
ASPX
Python

Selling everything else.

Re-purchasing Anaconda.
Fixing a woeful grade 5 roll on FDL FSD that got me ........14LY! ouch! (Ran out of Arsenic and Datamined Wake Exceptions)

Complete engineering mods on Python and new 'Conda (I haven't unlocked all the engineers yet and so will focus on FSD/ PP/ Shield generators and boosters)

Prepare for BATTLE!

Current short term goal is: build and mod my courier.

Short short term goal is: find modular terminals.

Aim for end of year, hit elite in something! (89%dangerous, 26% tycoon, 5%pioneer after 1.5 yearish)

Kind of a jumble of things at the moment. Prioritization is tough but i want to have a lot of this done before the Beta state is branched from the live game.

- Get to Duke and buy Cutter --DONE
- A-spec the Cutter --Got Thrusters and PP up to 8B...need another 100mil-ish, probably won't reach this goal unless I participate in a CG
- Upgrade the Cutter with Grade 5 Increased FSD range, light weight mounts for beam turrets and mine launchers and various other improvements
- A-spec the Orca - DONE
- Upgrade Orca with a mind towards speed and jump range --Grade 5 Inc. FSD range done, other improvements ongoing.
- Sell off all the ships I have lying around the galaxy not doing anything...I know remote ship sale is coming but I need the cash sooner
- Get to Grade 5 with Prof. Palin...just unlocked Qwent so I'm on my way. Need them Grade 5 Thruster upgrades
- Unlock Didi Vaterman for the Grade 5 Shield Boosters
- Perhaps poke my head into the whole alien stuff going on...might not do this, as I'm preparing my fleet for the new normal that invaders will bring.
- Visit Sol in my Cutter, just basking y'all
- Get to Allied status with Sirius Corp...just have a hunch about their involvement in the storyline

Though really, at any given time I might just get in my Vulture and blow up 100 pirates and forget about everything I was doing :p

Turning the Galaxy green. its such a wonderful colour.

So many CMDRs and groups have now turned to the BGS as the "end game", as the answer to what to do with all your wealth and ships. The BGS adds a level of depth, geography and strategy to the game that isn't immediately obvious for a single CMDR tootling around in their own. And indeed working with a group has a wonderful social aspect. I've met and played with some great people around the world. One of the good things about it is you can still work on a common goal even if you never meet in space!

Shameless plug alert: AEDC recognized this very early on helped by the lack of Alliance content, ranks or ships to grind for. We view the in game assets as a means to an end and have arranged many activities & stories in the sandbox around the background sim and boosting the Alliance.

For the elite ranks, I'd suggest going for Trade. Even though you're farther ahead in combat, trade is trivially easy to get compared to the others.

Good smuggling CMDR. :)

Short term: Finish kitting out my Anaconda.
Medium term: Make the rank and money for a Cutter.
Long term: Own a kitted out version of every ship in the game.
Had the latter in mind from day 1 - that's why I've never sold a main ship, also why it's taken so long to crawl up the ship ladder.

Last night I earned enough credits to buy and initially outfit my first ship, a Cobra Mk III. So, for now, my priorities are:

- Buy the ship.
- Spend some time making some practice launches, landings and jumps so I can start getting to know it.
- Start scoping out a good rare goods circuit so I can start making some real money.
- Steadily upgrade the Cobra until I've got it ready to be a decent first explorer.
- Head out into deep space and start mapping systems.

After that, who knows? :)

Get to Combat Elite - at 12% deadly
Get to Trade Elite - at 50% tycoon
Rank up to buy a Cutter - at 56% Baron
Sell T6 and Vulture - when 2.2 is released and I can use module storage

Long term goal - Earn another 700 million credits - I have 540 million in cash. Its enough for a Trade Cutter or Passenger mission Beluga. I want to own and outfit the Cutter, Beluga, and Orca.

But who has time for all that when there are crashed alien ships to visit and aliens to harass?
