So what happens when we all reach Elite status and own multiple Lakon Type 9's ?

I'm with RobinsonUK, it's akin to Eve Online, by that time ED will be a pretty mature universe full of real grouping and large battles (I would hope)
But I wouldn't bet on it happening any time soon, even in the original I eventually got to Deadly but never managed Elite status....by that time I had discovered 'girls' lol

I assume by the time I've reached that, the storyline and system influence systems will be much more fleshed out and I'll find interesting situations and events all over the place. Or maybe I'll just set sail into the unknown. It's not like I'm playing to get rich and become elite the fastest now...

Landing on planets and walking in stations !

I wonder if i can enjoy a beach somewhere on an Earthlike planet.

Yeah i often have the picture in mind that i want to take a break at a nice beach from trading or ratting. Other than that i'm also not too much into money grinding. So getting rich and bored will take a while.

Personally I have no plans of buying multiple Lakon 9's or even one... Flown it, don't like it. I'm in no rush to become a billionaire, my Cobra does just fine for now.

I look forward to upcoming new ships though.

Coordinate with your friends to try to destroy a station with kamikaze Type 9 ramming attacks. Put it on YouTube.

Lol. Every time I enter a warzone, I have this funny feeling I'm going to see someone in a T9 charge a capital ship head on with beam weapons.

Did you see the launch trailer? The most L33T (or crazy) out of that whole bunch of pilots was the one that climbed into the Type 9 for that raid. Those guys in the Cobras and Anacondas, meh anyone can do that. But fight in a Type 9? That's Elite.

I'm not at all sure we'll all end up with Lakons. Contrary to previous Elite instalments the biggest ship isn't necessarily best anymore. Combat pilots won't run for the Lakon, explorers won't want one, pirates won't want one, same for smugglers, rare commodity traders, miners and whatnot. In fact, only "conventional" traders have any motivation to get this ship.

On broader terms, if we're not just talking "Type 9" but instead "whatever you wanted when you started", the answer is simple: Find something else we want to do! Always wanted to assist a particular party in a particular system? Off you go! Wanted to travel all the way to the other side of the milky way and back? Right on, Commander! Get a 10/100/1000 ship killing streak without being killed in return? Get going!

This game is all about what you want to make of it, and I can't see it getting boring any time soon just as long as your imagination is still working.

I've always wondered...
You will realize that after all ....Journey is the destination.
And your goal to rush towards some meaningless title left you somewhat empty.
You will either realize that, or perhaps blame the game for not having end game content...
Or feel relieved and move on... who knows.

I plan to arrange my abundant type 9's into my very own coriolis. Then I'll just fly the station about, with all fixed beam lasers focused to one point.

Imperial March music required.

I just want a souped up Cobra and putter around the universe - it's all about the journey, the destination is of no matter.
