So whats next feature update planned after PowerPlay?

Hopefully adding NPC contacts, better and more varied missions and chains, given a sort of procedural narrative you can follow for a while. Would love to see more sense of direction and mission types from classic space sims like escort missions and such.
 
Wouldn't the paid expansion be xxx months after x box release?
I reckon we've got 1 more big update and that'll give Xbox v1.0.
 
I'm hoping for
-Missiles/Torpedoes, as mentioned above (other weapons would be nice too, more HUGE options, better variance in laser weapon effects, Class 2 gimballed bursts, etc.)
-Panther LX, Fed Corvette, Dolphin
-Passenger missions and modules.
-Improved Contacts panel, and perhaps NPC contacts
-Wingmen and Crew.
-MAYBE, being able to access trade data from galaxy map (if only for systems already visited)
 
Next? XBO release (with a time exclusive feature).
In 3-4 months? Nobody knows, they don't what to loose their plans out of the bag.

I would love to see some sort of collectibles in space.
That was one of the more interesting features in Spore that encouraged exploration: All across the galaxy you can find planets that have artifacts which you can pick up and add them to your "library". Collecting all artifacts of one category gives you additional bonuses (I think). I found myself scouting the galaxy just to find that one last artifact that I needed to complete a set. That was a lot of fun for me.

A similar concept can easily be implemented in Elite: Dangerous.
Here is my proposed concept:
The game can spawn items across the entire galaxy that reveal themselves after a system scan. Picking those up with your cargo scoop will add the artifact to your library Those items can belong to various categories (e.g. alien artifacts, forgotten human technologies, space lifeforms, etc.).

Now I can see two ways that could be visualized in the game:
1. Put them as small items directly in your cockpit or even give each ship a small room where those collectibles are stored. This would be a great initial reason to allow players to walk around their ships. Just take the elevator of mystery and go into the storage chamber to admire all the collectibles you found so far. The big problem with this approach is that it will require a lot of work to create 3D models of all the collectibles --> expensive. So that might not be an ideal solution for this new feature.

2. Create cards that represent the collectibles. Something similar to cards you find in a Trading Card Game. Those cards can be accessed in a dedicated screen (just like the powers in PP) and could be traded with other players. Maybe FD can design a simple game around those cards that players can play against each other.

It will give people another reason to explore the galaxy and (in case of option 2) adds another way of interacting with other players. Because I fairly certain card games will still be popular among pilots in 3300. ;-)

I would like to see some PvE/Coop Wing missions come into the game next. Not just your standard delivery or kill something missions! Base defence/assaults, VIP escorts and maybe dedicated combat areas that allow bigger wings but only in that sector of space.
 
I'm not sure that Frontier even knows what they're doing next as DBOBE has stated that they have no roadmap, well maybe not one he's willing to show us anyway. This worries a little as Frontier seem to be a fan of hacking together game features.
 
i smell a faction navy expansion next as the PP conflicts escalate into full war.
and once the major factions are at each others throats the thargoids will come in a third expansion,.
and after the thargoid expansion we will start getting the premium expansions like atmospheric flight or planetary landings.
just my guess.

That will be a good start for me.
