So what's wrong with the GalNet News?

That brought to my mind of a typical "weather lady" but instead of weather, going over the powers bubble map covering the powerplay shifts.. I also cringed remembering the jarring heavy southern accent and egosoft's people animations of X3: reunion's opening news..

lol, and the last bit with the argon president shouting.

Weather lady? Can we have this one?

What's the best way to do this? I replied twice to the email you get when you make a submission (forumadmin@frontier.co.uk) but got no response.
I know that is like the only way to go, I just wanted to make sure you did before entertaining my own guesses in my mind. I am sorry. But if you post it here I will read it! at least there is that!

I wish I could but I didn't keep a copy of the text and, with the new Galnet submission system, it's gone now. :(

My theory is that they have the story all planned out, but 2.3 (and horizons in general) has taken longer than planned which means they've used up all the 2.2 story items and haven't produced much to fill the void before 2.3 drops and the story starts moving again.

I do however think they could do much better with Galnet. Ideally make it like a weekly podcast/radio show we can play in cockpit (hire someone like Obsidian Ant or Kate Russell to produce it?). Could also hire some of the authors of the official novels to produce a load of other stories for when the main story is running slow.

I get the feeling however that the problem with Galnet is that it's quite labour intensive to produce as it is. Someone writes the story, then it's checked for continuity with lore, then it's hopefully proof read (ahem), then it needs to be translated into the other supported languages. All adds up to a more slow and labour intensive process than we imagine.
