So where are those frequent interstellar initiatives that should be there instead of community goals?

So false promise of interstellar initiativs beeing frequent and we have to mutch work for doing community goals. Right now none are existing for monthes, are we supossed to play just mining simulator? Wasn´t that hard to do a community goal every week 2 years ago and now the are not able to do sort of so called "cain community goals aka. interstellar initiatives". You said you need the resources for fleet carriers, gallnet is gone you said you need the resources for fleet carriers, do you now say you need the resources for patching fleetcarriers and in one month you say you need it for odessay.

Here is a Veteran asking for why and a new false promise Tm soon

do you realy white knight cut content. Did they realy say hey at 2021 you will see the next interstellar initiative? Did i miss something was´t playing elite for a while cause things like that (stuff disapears from game etc. it will come back soon as) and nothing happens.

There is a feature section of Interstllar initiatives should´t that be erased if there are not pressent

Why are you misrepresenting things?

Any new II will be started about 3 months after EDO is launched IMO. Its going to take a while to sort out EDO bugs and only when thats less wonky will they come back.

Why?
Each Interstellar Initiative left something in the game and it is important to know where it came from and what it took to make it happen.
Ferrying things for 162000 LS to give the Alliance a strong foothold in WHN or the struggle to repair the WHN stations to name only a couple of things.

Edit: also, i guess they will need to rethink the entire CG/II concept since carriers are quite some game changers...

Why are you misrepresenting things?

Why, didn´t the said the have reasons for not doning initiatives? Am i wrong?

Predicting the next reasons is my personal opinion xd

Just asking, if no one asked about that things nothing will change.

"EDO is launched IMO " mkay help an non englisch native with acronymes, If edo means oddessey, there is my predictions right. Or is there any fdev statement about forget community goals and II till odessay? Mabe i missed it

oh and in january

Greetings Commanders,
Happy New Year!
As we enter 3306, we would like to tell you about the next update coming to Elite Dangerous!
Thanks to all the commanders who joined in the beta back in November, we're happy to announce that the January Update will be launching on the 14 January! As we mentioned back in October, the first half of this year's updates will be focused almost exclusively on Fleet Carriers and fixing as many high priority bugs and issues as possible, ensuring that the game runs as smooth as a freshly-purchased Cobra MkIII. To be clear, this means that Interstellar Initiatives/Community Goals will be on hold while we focus on the subsequent series of updates and betas that will be coming over the following months.
Much like the January Update, these updates will be accompanied by an open beta, allowing commanders to jump in and see the content before it's released, as well as help us identify any major issues or bugs. We'll be providing more details about all of these updates in the near future, so keep an eye on all of our usual channels.
The team are hard at work on the next major milestone coming to Elite Dangerous at the latter end of this year and, as also mentioned in the previous post, we'll be ready to start revealing more about this after the Fleet Carriers update. We know you're keen to hear more, and we're excited to be able to show you what's to come!

After Fleet Carriers they revealed Odyssey and they also said it will be delayed from end of 2020 to beginning of 2021.
so as @Rubbernuke said, there are little to no chances II will return before Odyssey is sorted out with the launch plus the subsequent 1-2 patches to correct the bugs.

Firstly there weren’t any false promises. The 'promises' were adhered to until ‘the community’ demanded that FD change their approach. Can’t ask them to change things and then accuse them of breaking promises when they do.

Secondly, the overwhelming resource use is for Odyssey, and has been for a long time now.

So that is a constant background factor, not something that will suddenly be new at some point.

Prior to the big community demanded change, Galnet had already been cut down substantially which was due to:

- people complaining about some of the content not being directly interactable.

- a shift of resources within the narrative team to focus on Odyssey.

Galnet was then also effected as a consequence of the community demanded changes. ‘Community demands pre-Odyssey activities are changed’ = reduced in-game happenings. Reduced in-game happenings + ‘Community wants no fluff’ = virtually no galnet.

A general explanation of, and update on, the Galnet situation was given in Feb here:

Greetings Commanders,

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to voice their concerns and feedback around the reduction of GalNet articles, as well as sharing with us suggestions on ways that we could utilise existing community groups and content to re-introduce them.

We wanted to expand a little more on the details of what led us to this decision. While the previous narratives that were told through GalNet articles gave an insight into what life was like in the 3300's, they also gave players an expectation that these stories were unfolding in-game, and that commanders could fly out to the system and see or even engage with what was happening (which they could not). This, in part, contributed to our reason to shift the focus of GalNet articles to in-game narratives and occurrences, over out-of-game ones.

However, we also want to mention that the narrative/writing team are not solely responsible for writing GalNet articles, but also a number of other duties that contribute to the creation of Elite Dangerous. With the advent of the Fleet Carriers update and the 2020 release, their efforts have been focused on ensuring that all of the text required for it is done in time. Although they are an extremely talented team, they are a small team, which means that we had to prioritise some content over other content, such as GalNet articles. Although we love seeing the incredible content the community news outlets create, editing and implementing it into the game still demands a degree of focus that we do not have currently in scope for the writing team.

We hope that provides some context to why, at the current time, the plans for GalNet articles are unlikely to change. That said, we have passed this feedback on to the team for consideration and will keep you updated if there are any changes.

Also, from March:

There are no plans on returning Galnet News Articles, Community Goals, and Interstellar Initiatives at this time. If this does change we will let you know.

With clarification with regard to the recent Galnet article here.

Greetings Commanders,

Today's GalNet article was released alongside the Fleet Carrier Update, as we have introduced a new, rare good (Nanomedicines). As we stated in this announcement, we still intend for GalNet to concentrate on in-game activity.

Now don't get me wrong, a few II's or something like that would be nice at some point. But personally I'm expecting that in the run up to Odyssey, FD (or the ED side of FD to be more specific) are going to be pretty much all focused on Odyssey.

They shouldn't bring back Community goals anyway. I've done development work and I can tell you right now: these kinds of things are a lot of time and effort to put into a game. They may look simple to implement but they're far from it. They were a waste of developer resources; the community barely scraped through to Tier 1 on pretty much all of them. The developers are far better off spending their time and money on implementing things the community will actually appreciate like carriers, Odyssey etc. I can't say I want them back (and I know many people here feel the same) because we'd much rather get new stuff that the community would actually appreciate, and bugs ironed out.

There are always Player Created Initiatives
