So Where's the New Update Gold Rush (Pre Nerf)?

Its not quite as good as farming the free condas from hutton orbital, but if you trek out to colonia in an unengineered b spec sidey with military grade composite bulkheads, you'll find this new module that tears asteroids apart as you fly past them, so core mining is effortless now, simply fly through and pop collector limpets to catch all the void opals that fly out at you.
Best of it is when you do unlock that new module it also comes with a nifty decal...

Not necessarily better in a Cr/hr sense, just better than usual for that activity.
I did that already. Its a bit too easy for my tastes but I can understand that some less "entrenched" players, weekenders.. if you will.. might partake.

Thing is, if you're looking for a "gold rush" then surely it's for the purpose of doing something that allows you to earn credits optimally?
I mean, if you want a variety of things that are all in the same ballpark as VO mining, what you're really asking for is a fundamental shift in the game's economy.
Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, IMO.
Seems like, for example, providing a billion-credit spaceship yourself and then using it to go out and risk life & limb to win a war or eradicate pirates should pay at least as much as shooting rocks.
Said it before but I wish FDev could implement some way to add the same economic bonuses to most activities that apply to mining - so you there'd be temporary "gold rushes" in any system depending on what state it was in and what activities you could get involved with.
But I digress.
I understand that killing pirates and running cargo missions can earn similar payouts to mining, depending on the system, your status with the relevant factions and whether the RNG is providing the right sort of missions.
Personally, if I need credits, I find it easier to just make a withdrawal at the Bank of Asteroids for a couple of hours rather than hunting around for anything which might provide a comparable income.

Do you mean the generic "killing pirates and running cargo missions"? You might want to keep that to PM. Don't want that getting out.

Best of luck finding a gold rush that isn't necessarily about credits which suits you.
Maybe. The mission haulage gold rush for up to 50m per run was pretty cool. I don't need the money, can't even spend what I have, but I like getting in on these "events" while they are still active, before they get nerfed into the ground. I spend a day or so on them, and move on. If I find anything, I always reciprocate via PM.
