The classic answer is obviously the Cobra.
I have to agree, Cobra mkIII is Elite's Millennium Falcon.
Lakon Type 9, obviously. No joke:
The Cobra is a multi purpose ship more geared for combat heavy situations, the Lakon 9 heavily geared to be a freighter. The Millenium Falcon obviously was a freighter. When a Cobra appears, it usually is for combat. Not so the MF; thus the Lakon 9 is similar inconspicous as the MF is supposed to be.
The Size of the MF is more equivalent to a Lakon 9. The Cobra is too small.
The Lakon 9 does neither have speed or maneuverability of the MF; however, with the upcoming ship module customisation, the Lakon 9 will be able to achieve better specs, at the cost of its cavernous cargo hold. The result will be a MF-like freighter, with quite some surprises under the hood.

I always thought my Asp Explorer was the Millennium Falcon, with its big single drive and flat shape. Not anymore though!
I'm really hoping that one of the redesigns will be asymmetrical like the Falcon or something out of Homeworld.

But the Lakon Type 9 in no way, shape or form could finish the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

The Lakon 9 is far too big to be an equivalent to the Falcon. The size of the Falcon is open to debate, but it's going to be in the region of 25m diameter, with about 30m diameter as the upper limit. That puts it in the Cobra (or maybe Asp) size class not the Lakon 9 size class. The Falcon is also fast enough to keep up with dedicated fighters in a space battle, so you need fighter-like speeds to be a Falcon-equivalent. All that points to Cobra (or maybe Asp, depending on speed), not really one of the Lakons.

Agreed. Not much good leading a suicidal trench run against the Death Star either.

Good points. Only thing that quashes it all is that the Type 9 is estimated to be 100M long. (440 tons of cargo is a lot of space) That's hardly the light freighter the MF is.
The Lakon-6 specs are closer.
If you look at the dimensions for the Millenium Falcon on wookiepedia at http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Millennium_Falcon you'll see that its dimensions are very similar to those of the Cobra 3 which is estimated at 40mx20mx5m.

Well, at the moment i would say the Type9, or maybe the ASP. But both are way to "Hitec" to be the firefly kind of ship.
