So, will you buy an FDL or a Vulture this evening..or both ?

I was thoroughly excited to have the opportunity to play with a new fighter, but after seeing the Vulture's pricetag I don't think I'll be able to fly one.

I would hope that FD sees non-trading professions as something to be buffed, or at least give us some new ships priced appropriately against the expected current budgets for these professions :/

where to buying in a empire spaces plz?

Edit: Nevermind, found one. qushji gateway
Station next door sells Power Plant.

If this zarking slow download ever finishes I'm going to get a FDL to see if it's really worth almost as much as an Anaconda.

I got a feeling I'll be selling it back at a 10M loss.

Neither. All I've done since gamma is combat. You think I'd be able to afford a combat ship above the Cobra? Nawwww that's crazy talk.

Anyone able to describe where the weapon mounts are on the two new ships?

I'll probably sell my clipper for a vulture if the vultures 2 weapon mounts are fairly central.

Dear Frontier, there seems to be some localization issues with my game. I went to buy a Vulture, but instead of CR, it appears its price is in Yens.

Meh.

On the Vulture, they are place on the top of the ship, directly left and right if the cockpit.

On the FDL, the medium weapons are on the sides and above the "wing" triangle, 2 on the left, 2 on the right, the huge weapon is on the bottom of the ship, right in the center.

I will buy neither ever because they're both far too expensive. The FDL especially appears to have no role in the game except as a novelty for hardcore traders to fool around in before heading on to the Anaconda. No "well healed bounty hunter" will ever be able to afford one, and it'd be too expensive to risk in combat for the measly bounties on offer anyway.

FD have completely screwed the pooch on this one. They finally add some extra content, but place it out of reach of 99% of their players, while the remaining 1% just have no use for it. It completely defies all logic and reason.

Seriously, what could anyone profitably use an FDL for? Running rares? Because the game doesn't revolve around that enough already?

(While we're on the subject of rares: I'm currently a couple of thousand LYs into deep space. Isn't this where I should find rare things? Something that's available on Leesti for thousands of players to buy week in, week out without fail in a never ending trade loop is not exactly 'rare'...)

Same. I'm completely and utterly baffled. This smacks of a developer paranoid about lack of content, but all they've done is push the new content out of reach. This has added literally nothing to my game. I have 2 more ships I'll never be able to afford. Whoop-de-fricking-do. My end game, if I get that far, remains an Asp and they might as well have not bothered

I'd actually have preferred it if they hadn't bothered. I've spent weeks wondering where the new ships will fit into the landscape of my game, and the anticlimax of them being a thousand miles over the horizon is so great my compulsion to play has kind of evapourated.

I can buy a Fer-de-Lance but why would I do that?

I may have money but I also have sense. The ship is capable of a single purpose and is not sustainable by doing it. It's also impossible to acquire by the supposed "rich bounty hunters". Anyone made 200 million by bounty hunting? Even collecting the bounties on the people in the Top 5 list with 100% success (riight) won't suffice to break even.

It's also the only expensive ship that can get stuck just by jumping around populated space. Two dwarf stars in a row? Hello insurance screen.
A single loss? One month to recuperate the 7-11 million insurance payment.

That's the bit I find doubly disappointing. Even the people who can afford one have absolutely no use for it. It's another novelty ship, like the Orca but twice the price. FD - how about you give us the playable ships up front, then add the novelty ships at the end?
