So when you try to dock you keep hitting the toast rack and possibly dying? Here's a little tip to help.
First off when you are still in Super-cruise try to approach the station from the planet side. That way you end up at least at the right end of the station and can see the entrance.
Now request docking clearance. (You should know how to do this by now)
The nice Orange circle over the side of the station that was in the first picture has gone. Requesting docking automatically target locks the station. We want the Orange circle back so point off the station hit your target key to unlock the station. Now fly across the front of the station. As you move the circle will move across as well.
You want the circle to encircle the dock entrance.
Now fly straight at the dock. As you get closer rotate to align with the entrance.
If the circle drifts upwards just thrust down a little and vice versa. Don't pitch or yaw, just use thrusters to keep the circle centred
until Finally
Also use the towers at the far end of the dock as your leading line mark.
