1) have a way for player groups via squadrons to promote events they are running without using 3rd party tools
Perhaps something like a glorified squadron book mark that denotes the location of an event, the time it will occur, type of event, and any special information. This could be made visible to other players as a togglable option similar to how cgs and squad bookmarks are currently
The player would sign up for the event by requesting access to the event Private Group (auto created when the event was created, and administered by the squadron's powers that be. This gives a simple way for the squad to kick players that are miss behaving/breaking rules as will happen when random players are joining. Ideally the player would auto enter the PG upon entering the system within say ~1 hour prior to the event. (make it easier and seamless for the new players)
Add an option in the incoming text channels to allow events of a given type within a given range of either a current location, or a given 'home' system occurring within a given time frame (1 week etc) to generate a inbox message notifying the player of the event.
Ideally events could also be limited to certain squadrons and not visible to all players. ( for instance a sparing match between two squadrons)
2) this could be extended to activities is a sort of looking for wing mechanic. (i.e. wanting to activate the thargoid structure) (for instance one player may have a UP and another have a UA, but they did not happen to be instanced together. This mechanic would allow players to communicate and coordinate ingame to accomplish the desired task/activity.
3) Social Squadrons: Comms channels similar to existing squadron comms, but that do not require member ship to participate ( controlled in a similar way as Private groups.)
Say a player is interested in the work Canonn does, and also likes the event hosted by several PVP squadrons/groups, but already is part of another squadron. It would be nice to be able to keep up to date with these groups in game. For example they could announce all event there and not just those that may be near a given players location, or that they have seen on the galaxy map. It could also be a way for groups to request real time assistance, or for help with a task (like mapping Witch head Barnacles, defending a system, or clearing griefers)
Ideally this would extend to powerplay factions, and possibly superpowers (how the superpower stuff is administrated could be an issue... who is in charge?)
