Software Modules for Ship Computer to Replace Various Controllers

Software Module purchases for the Ship Computer could allow more logical 3300 era ship functions and allow another money sink as well as facilitating further improvements in game-play styles.

A ship's computer would be upgradeable just like other modules.

Depending on the rating, the ship computer could have more or less programs running with different features.

The computer would have the ability to swap programs in and out much like the power management screen prioritizes and can shut down some modules or firegroups remove certain items from being fired.

With such a generic system FD could have a variety of Limpet, Fire Control (turret and gimble), Power, Docking, Planetary Landing, Atmospheric flight control, anti-hijacking, and other software packages for sale and salvageable from some data beacons (?), without needing to expand module slots or other changes to outfitting for the future.

This could also pave the way for more Stealth and Piracy options with a variety of Power and Emission profiles (but further enhancements to the Power Management screen could also allow that).

Controllers of various types should need communication ability, links to other ship systems/data, and algorithms. But, I don't think allocating tons of ship module space analogous to a Cargo Rack or shield generator to a Limpet Controller or Auto-Dock program (which ought to be software that accesses sensor data, comms, and flight controls; and not a 2-ton piece of separate equipment) makes a lot of sense, but maybe FD has an explanation?
