Sokn

Ok, I am officially angry at FD, There are still NO violent protests in Sokn for Pranav Antal to be able to Expand as far as I can tell. This has been going on for days and there is still no fix? Yes, this is a rant. I really tried to like PP but this is a HUGE bug. How is something like this still not fixed?

Ok, rant over, I guess I just don't understand how something like this is being so overlooked...

If i am missing something please somebody fill me in!

Yeah it states we have to destroy System Resistance ships to help expansion, but when in the Sokn system there are no combat zones or any System Resistance ships in super cruise either! The most frustrating thing is that this is the only system as a power we can help to expand! I have destroyed ships from different factions, powers, even ships commenting in the comms about fighting for the system, but I've not received any powerplay merits for any of them! Is this a bug?

For system status :
Wait till next week. PP has weekly cycles.

For merits :
You only get them for specific tasks. Not for killing random ships pledged to other factions.

I'm getting pretty fed up myself. I don't see the point of investing in a cause if bugs prevent me from seeing it through.

If we wait until next week we would loose our only expansion system.

The specific task is not there, it is a bug.

Any other sage pieces of advice?

Not expanding at all while in the bottom-3 on the list can cause the power to collapse. Hopefully this gets fixed before the end of the cycle :)

Still looks like there are no Violent Protests spawning in Sokn; is their any word from Frontier on this? Also, are we sure this is a bug, I can't think what else it could be. I'd also like to know if this has happened anywhere else or if it is just Sokn.

I have heard of it happening in other systems but Sokn gets more attention because Sokn is Antal's only opportunity to expand this round. Basically we've been sidelined for a round in the game.
Also, for some reason, the numbers keep going up despite 0 CMDRs being able to participate... but not enough that we will actually expand... just enough to get our hopes up that if FD actually puts a Violent Protest in the system before the cycle ticks over that it might not be too late to pile onto it and fix this mess.

I have noticed the numbers going up significantly as well. Its really strange that should happen since I have heard no one who has found a Violent Protest in that system. Is their some other way of expanding perhaps? Or maybe the numbers just tick up on their own for no reason at all?

I wonder if there will be any official news on this?
I have all but given up hope of any official comment on this. We have been asking for feedback and/or guidance from FD since the day PP cycled last week, and have heard not a thing, beyond a single moderator saying that they'd pass it to the devs for investigation (or words to that effect).

A part of me wonders if this was always the plan, and whether Pranav Antal was actually a straw man, a lame duck, a sacrificial plot-device, purely intended to be thrown on his own sword within a couple of weeks. A galactic conspiracy, if you like, to create a martyr whose memory will live on even longer than the memory of that lost Federation president whats'ername (see, you've forgotten her already, haven't you?)

But the message of Antal will live on. Sokn will become a monument to our silent, unheard, moral victory. The Sokn sun will shine a little brighter every day, and the night will seem darker still, for the travesty and great crime that has been done unto the Antal dream of truth and morality this day. We shall never forget. But we shall always forgive, for we are Utopians, the one true future for humankind.

If this is the case, I'm making a black and white comic strip like (Fang?) does to express my rage.

Well they did say they wanted Powerplay to be a bit like Game Of Thrones. So I guess they have to (spoiler alert for the 2 people on the planet who haven't seen GoT) kill off all the main characters.

Mr brooks said in the update that Pranav antal, didn't expand. And he said he wasn't happy that not many are supporting Archon. Plus in the update Archon was given a expansion near Pranav antal territory. I'm thinking the RD storyline doesn't have Pranav Antal and piracy is a big problem in the galaxy. Also because of the dev's not giving Pranav Antal supports the expansion they worked for. It has caused in fighting. So thankyou Frontier Development us Pranav supports aren't happy with your decision. And if it happens again this cycle you may get some angry mail.

Mr brooks said in the update that Pranav antal, didn't expand.
I believe that is incorrect, sorry. With respect, the post I think you're referring to is this one - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=155696&p=2381515&viewfull=1#post2381515 - and Mr Brookes stated that there was 'No Change' to Pranav Antal, in terms of requiring manual alterations due to the fact that some Powers' teams didn't receive full credit for their Prep tasks being completed. Archon Delaine was one of those affected Powers, so this was a fair fix. We *did* in fact expand - into Sokn, because we'd won that. The comment was just that we required no MANUAL change to put anything right (which was true at that stage, too). I'm just hoping that (sooner or later) FD realise that Antal has been similarly affected in this second round of PP, and that they give us a retrospective fix too. We have been unable to complete *any* of our Expansion tasks into Sokn, so I would logically expect that to be manually turned into a Control system next round, or else this game simply is not fair.

And he said he wasn't happy that not many are supporting Archon.
This is pretty much correct. I think the term he used was 'a little disappointed' - see here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=155680&p=2381315&viewfull=1#post2381315 - and I got the distinct impression it was more of a personal viewpoint than an official one, i.e. he expected more people to back the pirates, because it makes for a better overall story. And I agree with that viewpoint, too. However, I did not get the impression that it was official Frontier policy to 'bend' the story to fit that picture, however (and I sincerely hope this isn't the case, despite my semi-humorous comment to that effect a bit earlier in this thread).

Plus in the update Archon was given a expansion near Pranav antal territory.
I believe I've accounted for this, and that the reason was because they rightfully earned it, but it never appeared. I'm hoping the same fairness is shown to us Antalites, in regards to Sokn. We shall see on Thursday at 7am, I guess...

I'm sure they must be getting some angry mail by now, but I am nonetheless surprised that there has been no official comment after all this time. That's what is causing consipiracy-theories like this one, and mine (although mine was meant partly as a joke). I really do struggle with the idea that Antal is a 'predetermined victim', and that we're all wasting our time because the galactic expansion plot is all run on rails, and not truly self-determining. But until we hear properly from FD, it will remain a worry, and I daresay it will put some people off getting involved with PP. That would be a shame. People do not like participating in games where they believe the rules are distorted or hidden, and are against them - and that's what we're beginning to cling to in the lonely darkness here now, isn't it?

Only FD can tell us the real truth, and take action to put things right. I just wish they'd hurry up and do so, before it's too late!

Thanks for the breakdown of my little disappointment post. The theory I come up with was that, because Sokn has no systems to exploit within the 15LY circle. that is why there wasn't any protesters. But what some were not happy about was how to stop it from being undermined as there wasn't any protesters.

Nooooooo, not Rickon Stark!!! (seriously where did he go?)
