How do. Get a sol permit to enter the sol system.

You need to increase your rank with federation.

You need to rank up to Petty Officer in the Federation. Just do mission for federation aligned factions and your rank progress will slowly go up.

Additionally, as the rank meter fills up to 100% on your current rank, it may appear that it's 'stuck' there as it won't automatically progress to the next rank.

Once the bar is at 100%, you need to keep an eye on the mission boards for something along the lines of "Federal Navy Promotion Opportunity" (won't always be exactly that but will be something similar). Accept and complete this mission and you will be promoted to the next rank. Any progress you earned past 100% on the previous rank will be carried over to the next one, so no progress is lost.

Be aware that the promotion missions can be various different types from delivery to smuggling to assassination, so be prepared for anything.

wasnt there an option to increase standing with some minor faction in a neighboring system and get it via them?
I read something like that but found nothing else but I'd prefer to stay independent tbh.

I think that will be for getting the permit to Sirius. For that you need to work missions for Sirius Corp in systems near Sirius until they offer you the permit mission.
