Horizons Sol system anti-climax

Sheesh. I worked hard to get my permit, but . . .

Can't land on moon.

No good stations in regard to ships and variety of modules.

They have Ganymede as a rocky body instead of an ice moon as it should be.

Jupiter looks washed out.

Tried to take a selfie over north america but the surface refused to fully resolve.

So much for my vacation. Now it's back to the mission grind . . .

I know most people don't care about this, but it just isn't right.

Ganymede has about 75 km of ice encasing an internal ocean.

But, ED has it as a ball of beige dirt and rocks.

However: If humans had removed all of the ice on this planet over say, a thousand years. What colour would it be, according to your own example?

I'm always for accuracy in this game, so I care! Maybe submit this to FD and ask them if they could impment an update or something? Or maybe they have a reason for the way it currently is in game?
Agreed: F.D. should be able to get the home system spot on.

one would imagine the surface ice of Ganymede to be magnitudes older than the polar ice on earth, and yet the polar ice on earth is one of the main places people go to look for meteorites etc in what are the warmer months at the poles, given that, one would assume Ganymedes ice to be much dirtier and rock festooned and look more like a rocky body than an earth like icecap.

Its no worse than living here.

Why do you want to grind instead of just enjoying playing ?

But talking about Ganymede... I don't know if you have noticed, but Mars looks like Earth
That is so inacurate ...
Or maybe, maybe... Ganymede has a reason to be rocky lore-wise who knows.
Of course, they as well might have postponed its design. But as long as we don't know...

Have a good one... and stop grinding, or you'll become one of these grinders that complain about the grind when all they want to do is grind. My advice : Just play !
My 2 cents anyway ;)

Interesting idea. And, did what with it? Are you suggesting they carted the ice off to Mars? Seems rather fantastical, if you ask me, but plausible in the ED universe, I suppose.

Anyway, if the ice was removed recently in geological/astronomical timeframes, then answer me this: Why is the rocky core of Ganymede covered in craters?

On another subject, am I the only one who plows headlong into tourist beacons, like, every single time?

Seriously people. I am still bummed I can't land on the moon. But, I will say I had fun driving around Charon and watching Plutorise.

Beautiful icy vistas:

Even came across this redneck gas station in the far reaches (note the small trailer used a lodging):

But then, of course, there has to be a weird glitch that ruins the moment! Noticed this on Charon and Europa where the color changes in rectangle on the planet surface as you approach under about 800 meters. Not sure if this is a known bug, but I've never seen it outside of the Sol system.

best thing to do in Sol is to buzz the control tower of the President's ship near Mars... always good for a laugh!!!
just remember to commit and keep your speed up.
