Sol [warm fuzzy feeling]

Hi all, just gained my Permit for access to Sol. Have been flying the galaxy for a while but just now achieved it... access to "home". I have a warm fuzzy feeling of pride and achievement, I can come home.

Is it just me? Or do we all feel the warm fuzzy feeling of Sol when we get the permit? The ability to fly above the earth in my Python feels... well, special. I've visited many different systems, and been a fair old distance from home. But still. I thought home was Lave (I'm an 80s kid...), but it's not, it's Sol apparently. This much is clearer to me now.

I know it's only a game, but.... (I think I'm over-thinking this...) :)

On that subject I think that if any first implementation of Space Legs is ...well, implemented... it should be for access to seedy spaceport drinking pits, orbital station pubs, etc. Just get into a room with other commanders for some nice chat and some o7-ing, whilst all walking around on our shiny new legs. Imagine all convening 10,000LY away at the Salty Space Monkey pub for a virtual session and some good old space banter. Would make Open a bit more "open".

After visiting tons of other systems in the galaxy the system felt strange to me regarding planet sizes and orbits.

Nope, though I do keep a few ships there. Just another system full of places you can’t land to me.

But it is a decent place to make some Fed rank, and it’s a short hop to lots of other more interesting places.

I got a warm fuzzy feeling but then again I went too close to the Sun.....

Actually my Main Commander has never been there, as a Rabid Imperial - no Fed rank at all. My Alt CMDR is a shallow decadent bleeding heart Liberal, so of course He's been...… and loves the Pub idea as long as its non-smoking.....:giggle:

I was also shocked to find out that Earth is the only planet in ED that is flat.

I was all warm and fuzzy until I went up to admire the majestic Federal Farragut parked outside at Mars.

It promptly destroyed me, my crew and all my fuzziness. I felt pretty cold and crappy real quick.

Wasn't my idea of a pleasant first Sol visit. :(

No matter. I never felt that I belonged here anyways..
