F10.. or if in Solo/Group mode Alt-F10 for a 4K Screenshot (doesn't work in Open mode)

The screenshots from F10 should be saved in C:\User\Pictures\Frontier Developments by default

Wow you got to see this f10 not working

Nothing appears to happen when you hit F10 but it creates a folder called "Frontier Developments" in your Pictures folder.. screenshots end up in there (This applies to Win 8, can't vouch for anything else )

Sounds more like a Coronal Mass Ejection.

If it's a mass ejection then that's pretty normal in-game. I have noticed some stars are a lot more violent than others. Great fun flying through the ejections.

You can use some ingame recording software to record a video. nVidia GeForce Experience comes with one, or you can use FRAPS etc.

Much better than screens.

F10 should work no problems. Check your screenshots directory (I forgot where it's located now and can't check from work).

thats beyond by capabilities lol, I have the pictures but posting them the forums says the files are too large 5mb, I have shrunk the pics down to 200kb but still too big
