Is there anything else in the game e.g. planets getting hit by meteorites etc?
I do think we should have more of this stuff, whether it is just being affected by a solar flare etc which breaks down systems or having strange but small clouds etc which again affect systems on ship. I am hoping they will be adding such things in the future so long as we don't get to the state of sharks with laser beams.

I just flew through some of the ejected matter, my ship pemp went from 75% to 150% in a second lol

resize and post pls
Have tried to resize even to 5% size and file size 50kb bust still wont accept the image on board, I have a link to a pic here :- http://imgur.com/4MEcZ2c
It's because it saves the file as a BMP which are huge, open it in paint, save as a JPG and that should reduce the file size. If it's still too big you can reduce the image size which will bring down the file size even more but simply saving it as a JPG should be enough.
