The celestial bodies in Elite look really good but the real ones look even better. Let's take a moment to appriciate the beauty of our home system. We might not think about it very often. We are busy with our daily lives. We tend to forget whats out there in the cosmos.

Here are some real images from our magnificent Jupiter.
Just look at those clouds, patterns and swirls. It's like a painting. How all the finely tuned forces work together to create this massive planet.

There are countless gas giants out there but there is only one Jupiter!

From big to small. Next up is Saturn. Saturn looks alot more calm than Jupiter. At least from afar. But the winds are pretty intense.

When i look at Saturn i think of a elegant dancer.

A aurora on Saturn and the famous hexgon storm pattern on the pole.

Well, they're digitally enhanced false-colour images. The real Jupiter, looked at by the human eye through a spaceship window, wouldn't look anywhere near as spectacular and would probably look more like what we see of Jupiter in ED. Stolen image:

You wouldn't be able to see the stars or the galaxy like we always do in elite.Elite is just a game. A good one i might add.

Sure these images are enhanced but they are real. But thats not what this thread is about.
