Solar Systems in Formation - Proto-planetary discs

Hi Commanders,

We've all seen very nice planetary bodies and stars.

But has anyone visited a system undergoing formation with proto-planetary discs?

Not sure if such are in game. The stellar forge was described as simulating such formation. But it wasn't clear from the newsletter with that very interesting article if we would see such or if all systems in the galaxy were going to be assumed to already be formed?

There are T-Tauri protostars with Rings, they might be considered planetary discs

I was in the SIFI region yesterday & found a Y type Brown Dwarf star with a fair size ring system around it

^^ Those rings are way too small to represent massive protoplanetary discs which should span across the whole solar system, up to 1000 AU (500.000 Lss) or even more. For example, this one around the HL Tauri has a radius of ~2000 AU:

ATM young systems are a bit underwhelming. They're just regular systems with T Tauri stars and a higher proportion of lava planets. I guess they'll be given some more love eventually as they'd probably be some of the coolest (well, not exactly cool) out there.

What you are seeing there is the infra-red heat radiating off the dust particles in the disc (along with the cleared lanes where the planets are forming), I bet under visible light when
you are orbiting 0.1 AU from the star, all you'd see is the glow off the disc closest to the star.

If you were out 1000 AU looking in visible you'd see nothing.
