Sold the Python...

...and went back to the Clipper. I know, it's foolish since the discount I got from the Zaonce sale is effectively lost, but the Python was like riding a Honda motorcycle: pretty good at everything, and boring as heck.

The Python had more earning potential (via trading), sure. It's tanky as all get-out, ok. Good firepower - alright, agreed. Decent jump range when unladen, again a plus.

All that said, I love the way the Clipper slides around and pitches. It feels dynamic, it's fast and it's not invulnerable to big NPC ships in a RES/CZ. The Clipper's speed and momentum might be a liability, but I kinda like that about it... it's like riding a high-hp sport bike... if you pay attention, use common sense and have good skill, you'll be fine generally. If you don't, it will bite you. The Clipper simply feels better to fly in my opinion.

I haven't tried the FDL, and would be interested to know if it is similar, or more of an oversized Viper. It'll be a while before I have the dosh for one... the jump range is too short to have a FDL as my only ship. Opinions?

And this is why choice is good. There isn't really any one ship that everyone flies and everyone has their own preference.

Exacty Ydiss, i tried the Vulture but never got to grips with it. I ended up selling it and went all out trading in my asp after I got more from the community events than expected, a days worth of trading later got me the clipper.

Mediocre build atm, I need another 5mil in modules to make it shine but definitely a nice ship that can handle res's easily enough, but I wont take it in a combat zone till it's better equipped.

Enjoying my first Python since the Quinvira Community Event... it is such a great ship. Surely no quick-turner but even with a 3 C3-Pulse/ 2 Cannon-Loadout it kills the biggest ships in no time. Vulture was great but i found the endless Pulselaser-pew-pew fighting Anacondas boring.
And the tankiness... It needs 3-4 NPC-Ships firing at you simultaneously to bring you into some trouble, but with shield-cells even that is no problem.
This is it. I think I will stay in this ship for a long time.

I had all 3 before I reset my save the other day.

FdL for high speed pursuit combat and warzones

Python for heavy brawling, piracy, mission running, trading

Clipper for blockade running and piracy

I'm in a basic ASP at the moment. I do miss my fleet lmao.
