Solo delivery missions for large ships...are there any?

As in the title.

Took my Conda out last night for the first time in a while (usually use the Python), only to find virtually NO delivery missions that were not wing missions.

Those solo missions that were there were locked off because...

"Ship too large"

Anyone else having this problem? Makes me wonder what the point of having a Conda or Corvette is anymore.

Is this a bug or a new ploy from FDev?

I'd be interested to know if others are having the same or similar experience.

Thanks guys.

I can sometimes be found board hopping when short of cash, just for the high value '120t of gold', '180t of superconductors' missions, and I fill my 550t T9 with as many as I can. 5 or 6 of these at 5m each is an easy little windfall.

Would be nice to see 180-550t deliveries to slightly more varied destinations (for more money of course).

I'm certainly finding the same - eventually called my passenger liner Python over and converted all the cabins to cargo racks. For every 10 missions 8 are to outposts in my experience. Newly purchased Anaconda now really only useful for mining perhaps

There are plenty. Or do you mean missions that are can only be done by large ships. I don't see the issue. Get a mission for cargo hauling, doesn't matter how much it is, then use the commodities to fill up and sell at a profit.

Fair point and that is what I did in the end but it just seems that wing missions are now predominating the board.

Some delivery missions pay much more than you can make trading and if large ships cannot be used for single location run - as the Python can for example - it kind of makes the large ships somewhat redundant.

Been the same since 3-0 I have about 10 systems I did trade missions in allied with all the factions. I used to see at least one 180T @ 9M mission every time I filled up, and the odd 13M for a 180T of slaves. Now I am board hopping two to three times as much to fill up as 80% of the missions are wing. Pay-outs when I do get them have also dropped, just the odd 9M but that's all.

To be fair post 3.3 things got slightly better with a few more solo in the mix but its way off the pace it used to be.

Nope, still seeing a nice amount of high paying missions at my usual locations, no issues filling up 752 tonnes.

My issue is that the solo delivery missions tend to be for under 200 tons. I don't want to do a wing mission solo, because the pay is crap. But the solo missions seem to be made for Pythons at the top end. I don't think I've ever seen a solo delivery mission for over 400 tons.

It depends where you are in populated space. Max is 180 tonnes per mission (except at Jameson memorial) I take multiple missions going to the same destination, even with 700+ tonnes of cargo space I run out of space quickly.

Many solo space truckers have long been asking for larger cargo missions in the 200-700 ton range for a very long time. While 777Driver is right that you can find 180t missions to different places you can do those in other ships like the Type-7 and it relies too much on RNG to find more than one mission to the same destination. Also you have to spend a lot of time to find the hotspots. I respect 777Driver a lot but I disagree with him that 180t missions are filling the needs that many solo space truckers with large ships have.

One problem with multiple 180 ton missions is that you almost always have to head to 3-4 different destinations. This makes short gaming sessions impossible due to the mission timers. For space truckers it means it is almost pointless to login to the game for 30 minutes if you have a small window to play. If you could login, take 1 or 2 500 ton missions and then feel good that you accomplished something with a smile on your face and logout that would be great.

I think Frontier intended for wing missions to meet the need of filling your large ships for solo space truckers, but it just doesn’t. The mechanics are fine, but most missions I see are many thousands of tons and don’t pay well for solo pilots. They clearly want people playing in wings, which is ok but I wish they’d throw us solo truckers a bone too.

There really needs to be better haulage and delivery missions for solo space truckers who earned their Type-9’s and Cutters. I hope it does eventually happen one day. Threads like this definitely will get Frontier’s attention so let’s keep discussing this topic in a positive way and see if we can get this on the list!

Imagine if hauling mission could be balanced for both solo and wings. No more "not enough cargo space." Just take the mission. 180T my ship can do that in one run. 3500T this is going to take a while solo, or I could wing up with some other players. Would that be an imbalance?

The key to finding good amounts of missions on the missions boards appears to be fly to the dozen or so places known for having good qualities of missions and enjoy.

Do not worry about being Elite in trade or being allied or friendly with most factions in a boom state system anywhere else in the galaxy, you must go to the few systems that offer trade missions as documented by several people.
