Solo is the cancer slowly killing elite what is the point of having an open world game if everyone is going on a solo killing mpc pirates is so repetitive and community goals with no community come on!!!! Frontier solo should have no effect on open play ur losing people. Making money a spec a ship power play for what if there's no players. Mpc play is predictable and boring spending time traveling and getting interdicted for hours for no reason and don't get me started on instances and wings terrible go ahead solo players talk all u want and be safe in ur lonely world

I just want to make it clear, that "what little following" is plain and simply wrong, the game is doing great, please don't assume that because you might not have seen that many players that they aren't out there, please.

It's cute how you think we care, you're just upset you can't shoot people. If open wasn't so risky it outweighed the social benefit's obviously it would be the more popular mode.

It really is incredible how little your post means with such a poor level of structure and grammar alone, let alone the context. Congratulations!

MASSIVE TEXT WALL come on!!!! MASSIVE TEXT WALL

Those exclamation points are lonely...please give them some other punctuation to play with, thx. :)

I agree with your sentiment in part. I think creating incentives for playing in Open play would be a great thing for the game, and would be totally possible.

I would rather be safe in my own little world than being interdicted by an aggro commander that gets his butt hurt when we leave I will stay in solo thank u until there is some sort of solution to make it agreeable to both parties during a battle.

I play solo and open almost equally. Sometimes I just wanna play by myself. I, for one, am glad solo is there.

I can see both sides of this argument but to say it is a cancer...C'mon man who are you to tell anyone how to play their game that they spent their money on? At one point in time open was unplayable for me, with constant drops and interruptions, so as a result I played in solo when no friends were on. Now that it is stable I play only in open as some of the interactions that I get are a big reason that I play :)

I do wish that solo was a TRUE single player experience in that your ships and credits did not cross over into open...

I consistently play in open. I don't understand why people fear it so much... but solo is an option, and as long as it is an option, people will play it. (There are some very easy ways to avoid other CMDR's in open if you don't want to be around them...)

As far as "little following", ED was in the top ten (from what I saw between #4-7) XBone games being played up till Halo 5 launched... With some other "big" games releasing as well, there will be some lul I am sure, but I would venture to say that most the folks that leave to play another game will come back to ED. (with exceptions I am sure) I know I have friends that play other games and come back. I play other games and come back.

I always play on Solo.
I can only manage an hour or two, 3-4 times a week. I'll hate to waste that time dealing with CMDRs that wish to screw me over for 5mins of fun.

I'm just quoting this so I know where to start after the merger into the S.O.G. Mega Thread.

While we wait for that to happen, please read the "Wall of Information" link in my Sig,

Nope.
Solo is what keeps it alive, after Offline got canceled.

Not everybody likes to play games the way you do.
I am not playing games to be social or interact with real human beings.
I stopped my involvement in multiplayer/online games at least 10 years ago, because in my experience there were far too many despicable miscreants spoiling the fun.

In ED I do play open quite regularly, but when push comes to shove I do not need humans in my game to enjoy it. Not at all.
The opposite might be true: That what very often destroys my enjoyment and immersion are the actions of other meatbags.

The only reason I do play open in ED is that I tend to keep myself occupied in systems that are not very busy with humans.
If there are too many I switch to solo to get away from them.

I love my "lonely world" because for me humans add very little to it with their presence.

Sort of see where the op is coming from.
I mean why have 2 parallel Universe but also linked?
The place is vast and if one doesn't want to meet up, make friends, do combat etc there are billions of places to explore, trade, mine or do whatever you wish.
I only ever play in open unless the servers are borked.
Then again I only really play multiplayer games as I prefer normal (or abnormal) behavior as opposed to ai.
I personally would have preferred ED to be a real open world and have solo be an entirely different game.

I get that open can be brutal at times, but that's kinda what makes this game so great. There's never really a dull moment, at any time you could be blown away by someone. It adds to the intensity of the game, and yes it does suck, but it just makes the game that much more satisfying when you do finally earn your next ship.

Solo has its place, especially if you want to farm haz res or conflict zones without winging up (i hate how whoever gets the last hit is the only one to get the credits), but overall open is just a way better experience. I do wish they could find a way to make open more rewarding for those that play solo exclusively.

Nope, you have 1.

But you can put blinkers on so you do not see anyone else.
Also, PC gets Private Groups as well as Solo and Open - so they get even more custom blinkers.

But it is still the same 1 universe
