[LFG] Solo Too Long....

I have zero friends that play elite dangerous, which is a real bummer. So I was hoping to find pretty much anyone to pass the time in the galaxy. Heres some criteria if ya feel like addin g me:

PSN: Oh_Bob_Saget_86

Location: michigan, USA (eastern time zone)
Usually get online around 6pm

Total Play time: 120 hours roughly

Ship: ASP Explorer (Engineer enhanced)

Superpower: Federation (Cordal and midminship rank)

Combat: Novice (I really need some pointers on combat)

Trading: Dealer

Exploration: Pathfinder (or something like that)

Looking for, explorers, mentors, and combat friends. Elite has a lot to explore and so much lore and secrets. It would be great to try and crack it all with others instead of just googling everything.

If you’re looking for exploration I would check in with the Misfits of science. If you’re interested in piracy and criminality check out my group the Black Void Syndicate. If you’re looking for Fed stuff talk to Van Flyheight at the Federal Democratic Command. Probably easiest to get in touch with those groups on Inara or look for their group page on the forum here. Most are on the front page and I believe Van’s is page 2.

Cheers for the recommendation there Curvemn.

Hi Bob,

Yes as said we are a casual group based in federal space and waiting on getting our own federal faction in game. We have plenty of US based PS4 players as well as an active Discord channel that we use to chat cross platform.
You can find our main page here: Federal Democratic Command

I hope you'll consider us

Van

So how do groups work? Is it like other games where you actually become part of a clan? Ive never seen something in-game that relates to this.

At present no but this might change with the 'Squadrons' update in Q4. Currently player groups are just informal gatherings of players normally on third party sites like INARA, reddit, Discord or a combination of a few. Player groups can get a faction put in game with a name and system of choosing but beyond that it is identical to any other NPC faction in game. You can't pledge to it or change it's mission board but it is recognised by Frontier as YOUR faction so it feels more personal to that group. Some groups aren't about this though and prefer to be travelling explorers, career criminals or Xenobiologists without being tied down to a system.

My group is the "wanting a faction in game" type and are mostly working around our home system Fionn. If you like the sounds of that kind of group then check out the link in my previous post above.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, how does one even join a "Group" if there currently is no in game system? does everyone in that group do a mass friend request to everyone? I'm still returning from the jellyfish nebula so I got some time to figure this groups thing out lol

I can’t speak for the other groups and this all could change with the introduction of squadrons later this year. Currently my group has an inara page that we use for those that want to role play and so we have a general list of cmdrs for FDev to see. On top of that we have discord and a PS4 community as well. The community page we use so others can have access to all the PSNs and be able to send others in the group a friend request. The discord allows us an app to freely chat especially with members all over the globe it’s much easier with discord to find out when others will be online. We also use it for weekly missions and strategy with the BGS and PowerPlay. Discord allows for the easiest way to coordinate strategies etc.

As for joining these groups everyone has a different process. Some have application process or interviews. Others just take you at your word. It all depends really. Our group is a criminal element so there is no process, I’m sure more civilized space faring cmdrs have a more elegant process. We just get cmdrs a link to the discord and get them connected on the other two tools we use.

Hope I helped answer some of your questions.

Makes more sense now thank you....

But ive got an idea. How about I give out my PSN, Oh_Bob_Saget_86 , and if there is anyone in any of your groups whose in the eastern US time zone, say around 6pm, to shoot me a friend request so we can wing up, so they can let me know what the groups all about first hand and maybe take me on some "Missions" that group is common to doing?

Kind of like an initiation test lol
