Solo'ed my first Basilisk Today

Yay. A good deal harder than the Cyclops. I tried one after killing around 20 Cyclops’ and did not manage to excerpt a single heart. My build had a G4 power system and two G4 hull reinforcement modules so the first order was to go G5 it all. Once that was done I went back and tried again, and again not even the first heart before I had to flee. So I checked some vids and it became clear the cmdrs where shooting far less than me and inflicting more damage. Eh!? Well I was running 4 Modified Gauss Cannons thinking that they would be better than the standard ones well no turns out they are rubbish. So back to Guardian Sites and some more blueprints and bits.

So now we have 4x Standard Gauss. I also have stocked up on what’s needed for Synthesising Heatsinks. Boy did I get through lots and lots of heatsinks! But we did it 9% hull left but as all good movies state “you should see the other guy” Best 24mill I’ve earned for a long while. Definitely need to work on the skills and method but I now know I can do it.

Of course, in reality it is not necessary to synthesize premium ammunition or anything like that, only the self-maintenance unit, repair limpet, at least 32 units, and the important thing is how you move through space, with assistant disabled, lower the Basilisk's shields and recently you approach, launch a thermal ejector and shoot the gauss cannons 2 by 2, when the heart is activated, break it and get out of there, repair with the limpet and the self-maintenance unit, as the basilisk is fast, it is recommended to shoot the laser(s) with thermal ventilation and you are turning in circles until the shields of the thargoid are turned off and so on until it is liquidated
